Except... None of them are, except the WoL. Not likely, anyway. Consider:I will say, however, that he is (was) probably the First's soul counterpoint to that merchant dude from the original opening cutscene in much the same way that the AF gear dude Grenoldt is for Gerolt and the WoL is for the WoD/L. So not the same person, but also kind of sort of in a way.
Folks assume these are shared souls because the individuals look similar and have similar jobs. However, the only definite, for sure shared soul we know of is the WoL and Ardbert - and unless you designed your character in a VERY specific way, your character does not look at all like Ardbert, and probably does not have the same job.
So, appearance and job have NOTHING to do with whether you're a shared soul. Now, this is the Headcanon thread, so if you want to pretend they are, go for it! There is, however, no evidence to support it, in-game. I think Yoshi P stated in an interview that certain jobs attract certain types of people, and that's why you have strikingly similar folks like Grenoldt and Mowen. Not even he claimed they are shared souls - and, indeed, he seemed to be hinting you shouldn't read too much into it.
I suggest reading the title of this thread.
Actually, except the WoL and Ryne. Ryne inherited Minfilia's soul. Running parallel, foreshadowing WoL and Ardbert. Also I'd say, even though in gameplay we're a different race and appearance from Ardbert, Ardbert is clearly the same face as the canonical representation of the player character in the trailers and other related medias. Yoshi's answer in the interview is a careful answer, so that he doesn't step on too many toes in regards to fan theories.Except... None of them are, except the WoL. Not likely, anyway. Consider:

"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"
VIIR Spoilers
Zenos' new co-conspirator is a Time Janny taking very direct approach, since G'raha's actions as the Crystal Exarch have seriously thrown fate off the rails.
Trpimir Ratyasch's Way Status (7.2 - End)

My most favorite, treasured headcanon:
Nero Scaeva painstakingly winds his little forelock into a little curler every night before he goes to sleep.
Also, in the afterglow of his recent mischief in Eorzea, he hopped the next ship to the New World where he was allowed to apply his scientific skills to researching fierce monsters and innovating new hunting equipment with the Research Commission's Third Fleet. After all, since a Monster Hunter crossover is already pretty much canon, why not? You know he'd be the first one over there if it means interacting with very cool, very huge, and very destructive things (...in the name of science, of course).
My personal headcanons are as follows:
- Magnai is a bara tiddied dandere.
- Nhaama isn't tied down to one gender or sexuality. In other words, Nhaama isn't strictly female.
- If you breed a Xaela with a Raen, you get galaxy lizard baby.
- We Auri actually do have fangs and claws, SE just hates us lmao
- Aurum Vale is absolute bull and nobody should ever have to be subjected to such torment.
- Nero and Cid are clearly gay for each other.
- Same goes for Sadu and Cirina. They exhibit strong lesbian energy, with Sadu being the goth GF and Cirina the pink smol fluffy GF.

Oh, I like this one... "crossroads of fate" indeed...
And, another FFVIIR inspired one, which is going to get lots of groaning (none the less because I myself actively dismissed such ideas in the past), but hear me out:FFVII's Planet is the Source Hydaelyn in the far far future! And based on what evidence? The appearence of none other than the Enterprise in the skies over the Cetra civilization, so by extension, we are all Cetra! (okay that particular scene was just a Shinra propaganda video... but it can be infered that the Shinra's artistic interpretations of what the Cetra were like were based on Ifalna's information, given the Cetra shown in that scene match the mural Aeris drew on the wall of her cell as a child... so the appearence of Cid nan Garlond's Enterprise from Hydaelyn in that video must mean that Hydaelyn=The Planet is also true right?
And hey, both planets have a Lifestream and materia!![]()
*And that is not also taking into account that FFVII's universe but not world and FFX's Spira are supposedly in the same universe, but that was never really confirmed as actual canon... so....
Yes it's complete and totally darksteelfoil, but.... these are strange times indeed we live in so...![]()
