My headcannon: Meracydia is Hydaelyn’s equivalent of Australia. Apparently it’s somewhere to the south, Has a lot of dangerous creatures there, and I think the wattle tree (A tree from Australia) that you get wattle bark from in Azys Lla is probably from there.

So whenever we’re in a fight, we’re being sung at by the primal or their followers or our echo sounds and we’re hearing the thoughts of who we’re fighting like in Shiva’s case. The music accompanying the lyrics is either how the echo interprets the input or just the pure power of the primal warping reality combined with echo stuff.

Does anyone else have thoughts like these or do I just think too much?
That's interesting, considering what happens in Eden. The primals the WoL summons are not only warped versions of their Source counterparts, their music are also similar yet different.

For me, a big head cannon is that the MSQ and the DRK questline are directly tied together. In my own head, Frey's soul crystal calls out to the WoL after they eliminate Thordan in what was the bloodiest display of victory on the part of the WoL. Prior to Frey's trial by combat, they witnessed the WoL massacre the entire HW guard, and it was here that their link was established. It is even possible that Frey willingly lost the trial by combat in order to relinquish their soul crystal.

Yeah, when I saw Titan in E4 quote his own theme music lyrics, I was really, really wondering if we were actually being rapped at by Kobolds back in ARR.

My personal headcanon is based off Greek Mythology [Studied it in college, always loved it and the stories] that the WoL is loosely based off of either Prometheus [Titan who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humans] or Perseus [The founder of the Perseid Dynasty and Slayer of Monsters / Precursor to Heracles] Though...now that I think about it more, after the whole Emet thing, we'd -kinda- line up with Persephone more so than the other two [The whole death / rebirth of nature stuff]

My headcanon is that we are able to learn so many different jobs (be it for fighting or gathering/crafting) because we already had 8 parts of our whole souls back (now nine). While Ardbert and his group seemingly always stayed with their chosen jobs which is because people from shards have it not that easy because they are just 1/14th.

For the longest time, I thought Raubahn and Nanamo were lovers. And Pipin was their love child

    ^This...

Though I tend to forget in many eastern games, honor and loyalty are HUGE and doesn't always imply love, where western audiences will beg to differ... even though the overtones of love are in your face.

ShB implies Y'shtola and Urianger have a thing going, or on and off again. Earlier on I thought her and Thancred had a thing going but was broken off, they know each other so well.

    Now for my personal headcannon...

    1. Urianger is Venat, or a fragment of him. There is more to this NPC than the game is letting on, started with his gambit involving Minfillia, the WoD, and Elidibus. He's always plotting and planning several steps ahead, and even in ShB and Eden he still calculates. He is the one that the Exarch confides in for his grand master plan to rid the First of the corrupted light, and Urianger has experience dragging his "friends" along, it wouldn't be the first time he sacrificed someone for the greater good. I think we're going to meet the Ascian equivalent of Hydealyn soon, and Urianger is merely an alias. I'm waiting for him to do that animation where he puts on the light mask after a specific event, or basically a convenient plot device to whisk him and the other Scions back to the Source.

I know the whole thread is about improbable things, but the reason the Exarch targets him as confidant is precisely because of his previous gambit, so the two are essentially linked. The Exarch knows that Urianger will do what needs to be done now that he knows the truth, even though he doesn't want to - he looks so despairing as he asks why he's been entrusted with it. He keeps those secrets not because he wants to, but because he can see that he must, or the Exarch's hundred-year gambit will fail. Once he's free of that need to remain silent - in both instances - he is deeply apologetic and seems to beat himself up over it for a long time after.

This expansion has gone a long way towards showing him as more human and emotional, not just scheming in the background. There have been flashes of it throughout, but now we're actually spending time with him and it's clear that despite his awkwardness he cares deeply about his friends.

My own headcanon take on his behaviour is simply that in our world and time, he would be considered to have Asperger's Syndrome* - and that's not a bad thing, just one that explains a lot of his eccentricities. He's smart but he doesn't get how to socialise normally. He takes his speech patterns from books rather than people, and quotes prophecy at you instead of saying hello. He lectures Thancred of the intricacies of pixie language, despite Thancred's disinterest.

But this is all more like an overlay to his personality than any indication of his intentions - and personally I'm convinced those intentions are good. Look past the odd speech and the "keeping to himself", and he seems genuinely caring and loyal, just poor at expressing it.

    * and no, the Internet usage of it as an insult and/or excuse for poor behaviour is not what it actually means.

The Spoken races descended from the Ancients, but were altered by aetheric corruption during the events leading up to the Sundering, causing them to evolve into the current variety of peoples. Hyur and Garleans, specifically, were originally from Amaurot, which was the least affected (hence part of it still standing on the First), which is why they're the closest to the original form, and why most Ascians prefer to use them as hosts.

Miqo’te, Auri, Viera, and Hrothgars all actually have claws but most keep them filed down so they’re easier to work with (or possibly avoid stigma by more “human”-like races). But some still like to leave them as is and even further enhance them like some Xaela on the Steppes.
