Crazy Personal Headcanons

Thancred and Y'shtola dated for a few months when they were seventeen and it went disastrously wrong and Thancred knows it's mostly his fault but they've never talked about it or gotten closure and everyone knows about it but no one brings it up.

It explains everything.

We share the same headcanon! (I believe it's why she says with a steely edge to her voice "He and I will have much to discuss." after Thancred was revealed to be Lahabrea's meatsuit in ARR's story - she's barely containing her mixture of anger and worry towards him because she still has feelings for that damn BRD, but her pride would never let her admit it to even herself). And their UST at the end of the 2.55 story how she snarked at him about not wanting to spend an eternity trapped in the Aqueducts with him.

Yeah, their UST is so obvious SE may as well have put a giant flashing sign above their heads about it. (Even if it actually isn't, I'll still keep this ship afloat! )

Godbert and Julyan Manderville are the two unaccounted for Ascians, Deudalaphon and Halmarut respectively. We've already seen Pashtarot in a brief scene at the end of 2.X, so he's right out.

Deudalaphon was the Patron of Innovation. So lets look at what Godbert does with as minimal spoilers as possible. In 2.X he somehow has the Meteor survivor ring. Also he SOMEHOW comes to gain a seat on the syndicate AND builds the Gold Saucer in barely 5 years following the Battle of Carteneau. In 3.X he builds GiGi a new body. In 4.X he votes against Nanamo because her plan would lead to stagnation amongst those she wants to help. In 6.X he tricks Gerolt into innovating the latter's techniques and improving on his weapons.

Halmarut held sway over botanical and fungalogical creations. Any good chef will tell you that its the spices that make the meal. A true artist can make shrooms come alive with flavour. What is Julyan? A culinarian. That frying pan of hers....excuse me, but NO ONE else has a pan, or even the ability to WILL their weapons to spontaneously grow that massive. Unless say...they knew the powers of creation magics...

And then there's Hildibrand. Nothing about this moron makes a LICK of sense... Unless you consider the fact his parents are awakened Ascian Overlords, and passed their powers on to their son. At which point you realize that if it wasn't for his good natured idiocy, Emet-Selch would have won.

I can 100% see Emet coming to Godbert and Julyan after Dalamud's fall to begin preparation for the 8th rejoining. At which point the two of them look at each other, look around at the aftermath, then go...naaaahhh! Then subsequently yeet Emet all the way back to Garlemald.

I think there was a similar thread some time back.

I made the assessment that our Chocobos are actually Primals that we summon, and that our failing crafts at high odds is due to the Crystals actually having been dried up by our companions.

I also apparently had a theory about the Gold Saucer Adamantoise being Teledji Adeledji's Giant Tortoise from the Heroes in a Halfshell Guildhest picked up after he... no longer needed it. Colour and species be damned.

I think I'm going to have to give that thread a read when I have a chance to see how the random thoughts stack up to where we are.

The final boss of Snowcloak was actually just a regular Abalathan hoarhound that Ysayle adopted. She was heartbroken that you killed it, but she never told anyone.

Oof, I'm pretty sure that one turned out to be true.

When Heavensward was in swing, back when tanks had their own unique defensive cooldowns, some better than others, and other just exact copies of Rampart; the buff Shadowskin on Dark Knight made me imagine that when a Tank uses a mitigation cooldown their body/skin physically changes in appearance.

Like Shadowskin's icon was this deep dark reddish purple that kinda looked like a really gruesome version of protect in the tooltip icon. There were a few short stories I wrote on other websites that I sorta garbage balled later or didn't every really flesh out where I had this Dark Knight character's armor get rended through, and the skin underneath and his face being all glowy, dark gem like with the blade or claw breaking on it. This idea was also how I justified there being so aetherially mesh rippled like physical attacks used to do when you were struck while under the effect of protect.

Hydaelyn is a crazy, out of control AI. She lost it aeons ago and now is just stuck in a loop of Must ... Kill ... Darkness. She even sounds like it, she never has a conversation with anyone, she just drones at people in a scripted fashion. Presumably Zodiark is an equally crazy, possibly even more out of control AI. Not sure how Venat and Elidibus fit into my headcanon but I'll squoosh them in somehow!

Zodiark is Harbinger, the Unsundered Ascians are the Reapers, primals are the Collectors, their tempered thralls are husks, and Zenos is going for a Renegade Control ending.

Alphinaud is crushing on Estinien, hard. Or is that canon at this point?
I find Alphinaud frustrating at best, and I have only recently begun to like Estinien in, like, any capacity so nooo
