People were saying drinking and doing drugs are the same because they're both drugs more or less and I said it wasn't which lead into the derailment you see now.

The only difference between Alcohol and so called "hard drugs" is that Alcohol is legal. Once upon a time it was considered an illegal substance and "harmful to your health". It wasn't until the prohibition where it became legal again and was taxed and moderated. Now people love to drink and be merry and there are advertisements for it all over the place. But, people still die from alcohol every day. Driving next to (sitting next to) someone who has been drinking has a higher probability of second hand death than sitting next to a smoker. The difference is, you can walk away from a smoker. You can not walk away from a drunk driver.

Alcohol also lowers inhibitions and can lead to fights or worse. So sitting next to someone who is drinking is not as "safe" to bystanders as you'd think.

This is not a PSA to not drink by any stretch of the imagination. However, if you can not make the correlation between Alcohol being bad and Cigarettes being bad then we have to start looking at the similarities a little closer. Fact is they both kill people but people continue to enjoy their little pleasures. Not only bad people smoke. News flash, Yoshi P smokes cigarettes. Not saying it's cool now because he does it, but what I'm saying is you can not live life through rose colored glasses and point fingers at people because they choose to enjoy their lives differently than you do.

Why would you get in a car with someone that's drinking? and if someone is driving like an idiot all in the street pretty sure you wouldn't be near it and the chances of you seeing it is not that common. Not trying to lighten the fact DUI is a problem but you're just grabbing at the bottom of the barrel by using that. Because if you wanna pull up extreme examples of drinking, I can also pull up extreme examples of smoking effects but not going to do that as its a waste.
You people keep trying to prove me wrong but just coming up with illogical comparisons.

You can walk away from someone that's smoking but cig smoke circulates in the air and travels. It doesn't just sit in the same spot as the smoker, whats next? Not enter a house I'm suppose to be at because they smoke? Just accept smoking cigs is worst overall health from the people around you.
Smoking is way more common to be around than some drunk dude.
