And if the defector somehow found a better solution that needed no such thing at all, then they either found it way to late or had a terrible way of telling it to people, because I doubt that Venat and her group would have gone against it if it was better for everyone. (We do know that they are only doing it because Zodiark is a danger and no long term solution)

Emphasis mine. When was it stated that ONLY Amaurot was left?

I mean I get it's the central piece story wise but I must have missed it where it was the ONLY populace left? Can you cite this please?
