Iscah is correct. Once you finish the ShB MSQ on a character, you can only use Trusts to run dungeons once they are level appropriate. I have levelled DRK, BRD, WHM, RDM, and BLM to 80 using Trusts (much less stressful than running with randoms) so I know this very well. Once they are level 80 you can run level 80 story dungeons with them and get tomes. Again much less stressful than running with randoms

I love the trust system I wish there where more rewards for them but overall they are a really great addition. I always use them and love the relaxed pace without worrying.

I like the idea of the squadrons but the whole micro management feels clunky on a controller.

If they did the squadrons with the same AI I would be really happy, it is something I would love the devs to do. The rewards are nice but too much of a pain in the arse.

It seems to be, so far at least, every dungeon on the MSQ will have Trusts at the correct level and assuming this is SE's intent going forward then what is the point of re-running the previous dungeons umpteen times simply to get the 'old' trusts up to whatever is the current level?

What am I missing here, as from what I know at the moment you end up with nothing you don't have without doing so.
Agreed. I saw them as a waste of time too. Still haven't done a single one. The only thing I can remember of merit was people saying they did it to level DPS, I guess.

I feel like the most obvious answer is the same as everything else in the game: because it's a thing you can do.

What point is there to collecting 100 different mounts when they (almost) all function identically to the chocobo you get for free? Why would you go back and do old content repeatedly to hear a track of music in your house or to get a completely useless Triple Triad card? Why suffer through 360 FATEs to get some minions, crafting items, and more music? Because they're there, in the game, for you to do.

This of Trusts like Squadrons from your GC at higher level dungeons. They brought them in for mainly DPS bad queues in ShB dungeons (only dungeons Trusts can be used in rn).

    Pretty much.
That and it's probably supposed to be a barrier of entry.
If you wouldn't have the lengthy leveling process attached to it, a lot more people would run their expert dungeons via trust because "players are scary and stressful".

The same reasoning is probably behind their absurdly low DPS. So there is still some advantage to running with actual people.

The point of leveling TRUST is to use them outside of the MSQ. There doesn't need to be anything more to it. If you want to use them, then level them. If not, then don't. It's fine either way.

    That's the problem right there,

In order to level them you have to run the same dungeons over and over again in a row. You're going to get so sick of those dungeons that you will never want to play them a gain... so it defeats the purpose of it.

I think that's a player problem. The purpose of running TRUST is to run those dungeons. The pace is up to the player.

Well being able to easy mode tomes, even if it's not the fastest way. You only get one completion of a msq dungeon (which doesn't even need to be done with trust either) and then you need to level them to do it again. Trust won't fail mechanics to the point of a wipe ever and all you have to do is dodge death as a dps, so it's great for leveling with mostly afk play styles. Plus you always get the loot rolls, so minions and housing items are easier to gather. I don't like the leveling system for trust, but nothing I can do about it but complain.
