There is no inherent point to level trusts, as there was no point to add a level to trusts at all. It was just a stupid reflex from the devs to slap a gauge to fill on everything they make.

I've seen no real point in it.
You don't get anything from it, unlike with Squadrons, and the only time I use Trusts is either doing the Storyline again with New Game+ or during the original MSQ run through (of which I rarely used them as I like doing them with other players more).
Leveling them gains you nothing really, unlike squadrons and sending them on missions in your absence. And it takes a LOT of going through the same dungeon over and over again to level them.
They never should have made it required to level them to use them normally because its kinda pointless.
Before finishing the main story I found it useful to level up/farm gear for my other jobs because I wanted to finish all the class quests before the main story. AND you could replay all the dungeons without having to level them. After the main story they revert back to lvl 70 kinda a bummer... But now I'm slowly using it to lvl another job. So leveling is the reason. Also got the rare items in chests at the end to myself.
Needing to level them kinda killed them for me as soon as I finished the MSQ. Maybe I'll use them again when I get around to leveling melee so I don't plague people's dungeons with classes I hate playing, but eh. Not gonna actively try to level them.

Honestly, with the amount of interactions in dungeons with other players, it doesn't make a lot of difference when playing with trusts.Well at level 80 you unlock glamor for the trust but mostly the point is when you don't want to deal with people and just want to relax level use the trust beside honestly trust really teachs you dungeons so you can learn the physical way if you want honestly I wish it was on trails at least for the first time you do them.
Kinda funny you were lazy to type 4 additional letters but not lazy to type an essay explaining why you were lazy to type 4 additional letters.
All the people saying that you need to level them in order to farm dungeons outside of MSQ - this is incorrect. It used to be the case at launch, but ever since patch 5.1, you can switch between Trusts(pre leveled, only story-accurate NPCs for any MSQ dungeon, including Exarch/Raha and Lyna) and Avatars(leveling from 71, can use any NPC for any MSQ dungeon, only Scions+Ryne) freely. This means you can farm dungeons with your Trusts without leveling Avatars at all.
The real reasons to level your Avatars are:
- getting an Avatar to lvl 80 lets you change them to an alternate outfit(Source outfits for Scions, Minfilia color scheme for Ryne)
- leveling all Avatars to 80 earns an achievement, granting the title "Trusted Friend"
So basically there are reasons, but not a whole lot of them.
If you want to do it, I recommend doing so while leveling a tank and dps job(there's 2 healer Avatars, so this way you only have to go through this twice) and getting some good podcasts going in the background.
I am fairly sure you can only switch to scenario mode after getting all the avatars to Lv80. I tried to replay Grand Cosmos in scenario mode again, but couldn't.All the people saying that you need to level them in order to farm dungeons outside of MSQ - this is incorrect. Hmm that could be the case, but I think a friend of mine actually used them without leveling, might be wrong though. When have you tried doing that?
