Materia Extraction Progress Resetting - Before 100% and without Extracting

Someone else had told me this happened to them, and I kinda brushed it off as they extracted it when they weren't paying attention, but just had it happen to me as well.

I've not played my healers enough to extract a materia from them yet with the new 480 gear pieces - all three have all 480 pieces including weapons. Mostly I run on WHM, with a little bit on SCH. This morning, all of my healer equipment now shows 1% again, when they were not near enough to extract. This includes all three weapons.

Looking at RDM, what I play more of, show as 43% progress. I think the healer set would realistically be around 25% range for whm, maybe 10 for sch weapon, and still at 1-2% for AST weapon. But all gear pieces are showing as 1% now - even after running a couple duties - still 1%.

Not sure the best way to notify the powers that be - a post here somewhere, or a feedback in game. Figured would start here.

Right, assumed as much. Which is why I ballparked a lower amount than I would have usually. Doing a daily 50/60/70 for over a week, a daily Normal Raid for over a week, multiple E5-8 Normal clears, handful of 80 dungeons.... No way this stuff is 1%.

Spiritbond comes from doing level appropriate content. Level-synced content doesn't appear to add to spiritbond so the 50/60/70 and most other roulettes aren't going to contribute.

Your best bet is to check your spiritbond level before and after doing level 80 content, making notes on the content you did, what job you were using and the percentage change on that job's gear each time. If you see it drop without extraction, start a bug report and provide your data to SE so they can investigate.

Unfortunately it seems spiritbond comes quite slowly for 480 gear, if at all. Even running expert roulette, my gear has not budged. I've not checked whether E5-8S give SB, though single target fights have generally been a bad way to spiritbond stuff. It seems spiritbond basically takes the level of the thing (Mob, crafted item, gathered item), and compares that to your gear level to give an amount of bond based on the difference. Doing things like getting a higher quality or HQ on DoH/DoL, fighting a FATE boss, all of these give the same amount of bond despite being harder and more significant. Perhaps the most egregious is how monsters at the start of an expansion, like the level 50 mobs in Coerthas Western, still give bond like monsters at the end of the last expansion despite a drastically different difficulty and expected ilvl. So, even if the current hardest content can give bond, it'll be at a glacially slow rate for 480 gear.

you need to do current patch stuff if you want spiritbond for item level 480+, I have not noticed much of any increase from any old content.

As I stated earlier, while not EVERYTHING I have done on my healers has been level 80 content, a sizable amount has been.

Even after having done more 80 content (3 runs of new dungeon, E7n, and I think 2 E5n, all on whm) - spiritbond still showing 1%.

I've done less current content on my tanks, and that set of gear is NOT at 1%.

It's not really about the level, but about the iLv-equivalent of the content. Consider the gear levels dropped by a particular content for a rough idea of the iLv-equivalent. Anamnesis gear is 455, so running Anamnesis in 480 gear will result in little if any spiritbond. The other Lv80 dungeons will give even less.

It is a little puzzling that you've run Eden's Verse and are still at 1%. After two or three runs you should be at least 2%.

Update... After doing 2 Copied Factory, 3 runs of E5N, 3 runs of E6N, 3 runs of e7N, and 3 runs of e8n... and the newest dungeon two more times....

Still at 1% spiritbond on the neo ishgard healing gear. Hasn't moved a single percent on any gear piece. Was sch on all runs.
