[Request/Suggestion] Addition to the auto-translation dictionary: "Mitigate, please."

I believe it would be useful to have an auto-translation phrase requesting mitigation in a cordial tone. The specific wording is less important to me as localization teams would handle that.

Like most auto-translation options, the usage would be fairly niche. However, we currently lack an explicit method to either (1) ask our tank in dungeons to use their mitigation cooldowns if they are not or (2) coordinate party-wide mitigation in full party content with people who speak different languages.

Furthemore, it seems inconsistent that we have access to the somewhat passive-aggressive {Heal!} and not a means to communicate about mitigation.

You can auto translate every ability name, and the word please. Like “[Rampart] [please]” for example.

That is true. However, in regards to scenario (1) of my original post, you would want to quickly communicate a request for mitigation in a general sense rather than specify actions. We lack an auto-translation phrase for this intention.

People should understand (Rampart) (Please use it.) to mean "Please use damage mitigation abilities."

But there is a defunct (offensive stance) that could probably be recoded to (damage mitigation abilities). I'm not sure what that one says in other languages but I'm interpreting it to mean the old Sword Oath, Deliverance, and Darkside, because there's also a (defensive stance). Since those offensive stances are no longer a thing, we don't need an autotranslate phrase for them.

With respect, I'm not trying to get into a discussion about what other players should be doing—that is not the purpose of this post. What you and Odd are suggesting is sound. I don't disagree that those existing terms are an option. However, specifying the use of the (Rampart) is not the intention—general use of mitigation actions is. I don't think I need to explain that typing "(Rampart), (Shadow Wall), (Sentinel), (Vengeance), (Nebula), (Reprisal), (Arm's Length), (Camouflage), (Nascent Flash), (The Blackest Night), (Sheltron), (Heart of Stone), (Aurora), (and so on...) (Please use it.)" is a tad superfluous when a single auto-translation phrase could cover all of this. The comparison is further laid bare by the existence of the auto-translate (Heal!) or (Full attack!) which communicate general behaviors.

I agree they are depreciated terms. While valid, that observation is independent of my initial request and both things could be rectified.

I understood what you want. But

    "This needs to be addressed."
    and
"Here is a reasonable workaround you can use until it's addressed."

are not mutually exclusive things. Until such time as an appropriate auto-translate phrase gets added, the genericizing of Rampart to mean any damage mitigation ability should be understandable enough if you don't want job-specific messages listing all the relevant actions you would like them to employ.

My post is about the addition of a new auto-translation phrase to facilitate better communicate. There was no request for a workaround. If you think the term would be useful, please feel free “like” and/or comment in agreement.
