    constant 9002 error

Hello there I have been having constant 9002 error. i will get dc'ed every 2 hours in game, its almost clockwork at this point. for example i start playing around 6pm pst time and i will alway s get dce'ed around 8pm pst time. I recently bought a new modem and router but those should't be the issue and this did start up during the 5.2 patch drop, and ive seen plenty of reports lately for the 9002 error since the 5.2 patch.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I found the solution for the disconnection every 2 hours, but maybe could be applied to others randoms disconnections with error 90k.
After a lot of test i identified the problem in my end, my router after 2H and 5 minutes had a DHCP release, causing some package lost and the disconnection with the error 90K.
I own 2 router Netgear R6900P and R7000P both router have the same issue, after read in their forum seams to be more people are experiencing the same behavior, with those two router and others due to the firmware is basically the same for must of them.
My solution, log on into the router menu(192.168.x.x) and activate QoS(Quality of Service) this will stop the disconnection every X amount of time, but depending on your connection this can have an impact in your connection. Any way is a good way to isolate yours constant disconnection.
Just activate QoS, apply the change, log off, reboot your router and modem and you should be online again. My advice not to mess with other options in the QoS like prioritize some connection and stuff like that.
I bought the Asus RT-AC68U and i did not have to do nothing, it worked great with no disconnection or other issues.
If anyone need more explanation just ask.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If it is only happening with one character, you may want to try deleting the locally-saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue. Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We would like to recommend performing a Clean Boot on the desktop to see if the disconnections continue. This will prevent any programs from starting up when the starting when the computer first boots up. This can end up having adverse effects on the game when these programs are running in the background. To perform a clean boot for Windows 10: Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
