Blazefire Saber for Gunbreaker

It would be nice to see Lightning's Gunblade compatible with the Gunbreaker job.
With the special animation, the sword pulls and sheaths like all the other swords. So it could probably be the same for GunBreaker. I am sure there is more to it but it would be nice to see it implemented.

Only if GLA/PLD got Lightning's 'Etro's Champion' gunblade and shield combo from FFXIII-2 to compensate.

But as it stands this sadly has virtually zero chance of happening I'm sorry to say (SE didn't add new FFXIII weapons for later classes and Jobs, nor changed existing ones to be better fits for those new Jobs - like, Sazh's guns were not taken from PGL/MNK and given to MCH for example).

Sure it may be a stretch but I think it is worth a shot to at least try. If it is one thing SE is good at is making the impossible possible.

I'd rather have them for both. I'd love Etro's Knight armor and shield and Overture from FFXIII-2. Some of my favorite armors and weapons honestly

It sure could be cool to have this, and for later classes to get something as well, like Enkidoh mentioned for MCH. The 5 different Blackbosom scythes (separate but visually identical weapon glams for WAR, DRK, DRG, WHM, and BLM) show that it's definitely possible for them to create a Blazefire Saber that would work differently to the current one, after all.

There's probably more chance of them applying Overture as a GNB weapon over porting Blazefire Saber.

Those are different weapon types. Blazefire Saber is a sword that can transform into a rifle. In blade mode it even has no trigger. It's like asking for Cloud's sword for GNB.

It's a perfectly reasonable request and an obvious thing they will probably do at some point. It's not like there are actually tons of notable gunblades in the series to pull from for the class. They did the same thing with dark knight when it was introduced, and pulled lots of paladin sword models for use as two-handed dark knight swords. Not to mention the various classes that can use the Edda scythe. They won't make the current blazefire sabre gnb compatible, that wouldn't really work, but they will probably just either add a gnb specific version to the mogstation or some other promotional type thing, or use the model for some other in-game gunblade down the line. I could see it being added to the gold saucer or as a glamour drop like the weapons from eureka enemies were.

Honestly this shouldn't be that hard.

They made Shin versions of Zantetsuken for DRK and SAM, it shouldn't be hard to add a model for Gunbreaker.

I think the biggest barrier for this is that it wouldnt make sense for the japanese players as to why it should be a gunbreaker weapon. In the Japanese version the Blazefire sabre isn't called a Gunblade its called a Dualweapon, so its only conflated with being a Gunblade in the west. This is on top of the fact that it does not fit the profile of a gunblade in ffxiv, as the Sabre transforms between being a gun and a sword, rather than the ffxiv gunblades which are blades with an explosive mechanism
