Chocobo Color issue

i used that website along time ago and it took me multiple tries to get it soot black. Like you, I followed the feeding order, my chocobo went from yellow, to dark brown, to violet to dark brown, dark blue and then finally soot black.

there's going to be trials and error, all you can do is follow the feeding order to (whatever color it currently is) to Soot black.
