When the big pointers don't bite (or the time of day is not right for them), you just gotta go with whatever will. Not using three double hooks per spectral current will hurt more than hooking the "wrong" fish. All the spectral fish give decent points, and if you aren't getting the big ones you should be going for the next one down the line and hoping for HQ. Any fish that is a x4 double hook (like Merman's Manes) are still pretty big point hauls. All fish during spectral benefit from double hook so it's never a total waste to use it, no matter what bites. Also, if you are, you shouldn't be letting fish get away outside of the current in the hopes of reeling in a spectral with surface slap up. That might increase the chance of getting a spectral fish by like 1%, but it ends up costing you tons of points. The non-spectral junk fish DO add up over the course of a trip, and can give you 1-2k points alone, especially if you get the intuition fish.
