ffxiv crashes pc for unknown reason

This is an issue I've been having for years now (since at least Stormblood's release for sure), but it's been becoming increasingly common, especially in the past few weeks. While playing ffxiv, the game (and entire pc) will freeze, go to a random solid color with distorted audio a few seconds later, and then restart my computer. There is no blue screen or error message, ever. This can happen several times a day, or it can not happen for 3 weeks. In recent weeks, I can get it several times in a row on loading into the game, generally on moving 2 feet from where I logged in, or sometimes even in the loading screen. It can also happen without any input from me (afk using the bathroom) but it is significantly more common when I am actively playing the game.

As for error logs, there is nothing in Event Viewer at or prior to any crash. It will shows nothing for sometimes hours, and then the next thing is a "the operating system has started" event and then the usual booting up stuff. I have worked to fix some AppID permission issues that happened after crashes, but no luck there.

I have had it happen practically everywhere ingame. At first it was only in overworld areas, but at some point (4.5 or 5.0 release maybe?) it began happening in instances as well. The final boss room in the new 5.2 dungeon has been a huge point where it happens recently (about 8 times in the past 2 runs of it), but it has also been common in Kugane, the Mists, central Il Mheg over the water, the Lochs, and the Raktika Greatwoods.

As far as I can tell, this issue only happens with FFXIV. Things it does not seem to be:
-overheating. It can happen immediately after turning on the computer, loading into ffxiv as fast as possible, and having the fans on max. And can equally not happen after hours of play and pc usage.
-ram or other system resources. Nothing is even close to maxing out even when I put it under load with multiple streams and other programs open. Also happens with no other programs running.
-internet or connection issue
-multiple displays. Happens with only the laptop's screen being active.

Common fixes that I have tried:
-reinstalling windows
-reinstalling ffxiv
-fresh ffxiv config files
-graphics drivers and Windows have been up to date throughout this issue

Any insight on how to pinpoint the cause is very much welcome, I'm tired of randomly crashing in the middle of raids and dungeons.

Does the crash occur when there are programs being run in the back ground? Additionally, were any updates or changes made to the PC that coincide with the crash?

It can happen with no other programs on the main task bar open. Here's a list of stuff that's the mini icons at the corner of the task bar. They're basically always active from when I turn on my pc.

And as far as any update that coincided with the crash starting to occur, I don't remember it happening in Heavensward or 3.X patches (I was still new to the game at this point), so I'm fairly certain it started happening in patch 4.0 or 4.1. I know it was about 2.5 years ago at this point but I don't remember doing anything significant pc update wise around then, just normal regular windows updates. It was so uncommon back then that I didn't think about it being/becoming a chronic problem.

Welp, tried resintalling avg antivirus, it was being odd and not responding at all. No luck there. Might try a different antivirus soon

Also tried uninstalling Razer Synapse. Thinking back I got a Razer Wolverine controller around when this started happening, and I had to install that to customize the extra buttons. No luck. I doubt it's the controller itself? It's basically just a fancy xbox one controller with extra programmable buttons and some chroma light. No macros tied to it, just normal button presses in extra places.

Is there some kind of cache for Nvidia or Directx that could be clogged up over time?

A little extra info about it happening today that could be useful maybe. It crashed 4 times, repeatedly in the loading screen when logging in. Got a 90002 and 10105 error as well while loading.

~ It consistently happened about 1 to 2 seconds after hearing the "Light Party" noise.
~Logging into another character on a different data center and ingame location, logging out to the main menu (not closing the game), and logging back into the affected player allowed me to load successfully.
~After the 3rd crash the game launcher returned to a default state, asking about terms and conditions, asking if I had a SE account, logging in on that screen before bringing up the normal launcher with the news, adverts for mog station items, etc.

Edit: started going through more of event viewer, found 2 that lined up with crashes.
~This error listed under the security category happened during 2 of the crashes today: "Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0" Event ID is 1101.
~There is another error under the applications category that reads: "The EventSystem sub system is suppressing duplicate event log entries for a duration of 86400 seconds. The suppression timeout can be controlled by a REG_DWORD value named SuppressDuplicateDuration under the following registry key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\EventSystem\EventLog." Event ID is 4625.

This can end up having adverse effects on the game when these programs are running in the background. To perform a clean boot for Windows 10: Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

Hello there.

I just tried that. The crash I had today was another repetitive set of crashes upon loading back into the game (post character selection loading screen). For some reason AVG Antivirus did not want to be disabled, so I tried it with it enabled (still crashed), and then tried it after uninstalling AVG, banishing it to the shadow realm, and restarting the computer to remove all its files (also still crashed).

Also before today I found Windows had been telling lies that my graphic drivers were up to date. They were Aug of 2018 old. Sadly updating them did not fix this issue.

I know I asked it before, but is there some sort of graphics-related cache that could be cleaned out?

Next time it happens I'm going to try loading into a different game on steam and see if there's any crash, but I'm 90% certain at this point the crash is related primarily to FFXIV.

It can happen both with no background apps open and with background apps open. And I did update my graphics drivers in the last week (Windows lied to me about them being up to date :x). Here's a new copy and paste of the system info.

Going to try doing another no background apps session while doing some weekly tome grinding. I still expect a crash. [20 minutes later] Well that was fast. Had two crashes very back to back and only FFXIV was open.

I can say this with a fair amount of confidence: whatever is causing the repeated quick crash on loading persists through "restarting" my computer, but not an actual "shut down" nor swapping to a different character and then back to the affected character.

We would also like to recommend several other troubleshooting steps:

1) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs.
2) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
3) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
