    Constant disconnects

    Good morning,

I've been experiencing constant disconnects since 5.2 launched. This disconnect can happen anywhere: housing, dungeon, city, overworld -- anywhere. It's very abrupt when it happens. I am getting a 90002 error when it occurs. Moments ago, I ran Anamnesis Anyder. During the first trash pack, I got 90k'd. Upon returning, we made it to the first boss when our Red Mage got 90k'd. We weren't even to the second boss before our Dancer got hit by it as well. A couple people in my FC have also reported being 90k'd, but I can't speak to their reasons -- only that it's been since the recent patch.

Furthermore, there have been several instances of lag issues. During a MSQ Roulette, the fights ended up being people spamming spammable abilities because we weren't visibly engaging... rather, standing there (on our screens). As a healer, I was tossing out Noct-sect Helios left and right to cover the damage we may or may not be taking. The entire Meridianum was like this. I'm not sure if the two are connected, but I wanted to relay the information regardless.

I'm currently using a wireless connection; however, during these disconnects, all of my other internet-related features work perfectly fine. Given the other players' disconnects (especially in the Anyder dungeon), it's hard to believe that's a coincidence, nor due to the wireless connectivity, but again, the information is there if it's relevant. Let me know if there's any other information I can give.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When exactly did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC/home network that coincides with this?

You mentioned using a wireless connection, have you tried using a wired connection? Does this change the issue at all?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

This started happening since 5.2 launched (around Tuesday of last week). No changes to my computer -- against, no other programs are affected. I have tried using a wired connection and it made no difference.

    Update:

Just to give you an idea of how common these disconnects are, I made a log of the times I got disconnect and what I was doing when it happened. I want to preface this by saying I started this log immediately after being disconnected.

2:54am - Logged in after being disconnected.
3:13am - Killing mobs for a map in Kholusia.
4:13am - Beast tribe quest in Fringes.
4:54am - Flying to a Fate in Fringes.
--Logged out to get food at 5:25am--
    --Logged in at 6:10am--
6:55am - Transitioning between floors in HoH.

And now it's 7:18am, so the aforementioned are the incidents that have happened within the last 4.5 hours. If you'd like a larger span of time, I can keep track longer, but I think this gives you a pretty good idea of what we're dealing with. Side note, during my HoH run, a member of my team also got disconnected abruptly. This is getting bad.

    Same issue here

I have been getting these since 5.2. I've tried everything and my ISP says everything is fine and there is nothing they can do. Every day it gets worse and worse and by that I mean the disconnects are more frequent and less apart. Usually happens in Duty, and even in the FC house while I grab a buff. Its really frustrating. I also got disconnected in my PS4 which I never play XIV there anymore. In PS4 I got Error 90006; in Windows I get 90001 and 90002. All of them say disconnected from servers and to log on I need to exit and open again.
I'm wired and the only thing using my bandwidth is the gaming laptop.

Hello there I also have been having the same issuse's as everyone here, i will get dc'ed every 2 hours in game, its almost clockwork at this point. for example i start playing around 6pm pst time and i will alway s get dce'ed around 8pm pst time. I recently bought a new modem and router but those should't be the issue and this did start up during the 5.2 patch drop.

This issue has started today on my account, at 02:00AM CET. It didn't happen before. I got a 9002, then I entered again and got another 9002 15 minutes later while in cue for 50, 60, 70. Didn't try to log in again. I hope tomorrow is going better.
To add, I've been playing since 06:00PM without any problem.

I too have been having issues since 5.2 and even prior to then. 90001 errors, 90002 errors, 90004 errors, 90006 errors, you name it. The worst is on Tuesday during reset days, the NTT nodes (which I understand you all are not responsible for) clog and my ping to the servers skyrockets. I am on a wired connection, I haven't touched my home network at all. These problems most frequently Tuesday evenings but also occur sporadically throught the week, and whenever they do happen many of my static mates and FC mates report similar problems.

I have read old posts on here and done traceroutes that show, as per usual, most of this is tied to NTT nodes choking and losing packets like mad. I realize these NTT issues are out of your control, but it is only your game which I, my fellow afflicted static mates and free company mates have this problem with. When we experience these issues everything else runs just fine. If the issue is with NTT, I believe I am correct in the understanding that they own the company responsible for the servers themselves. Can the server hosts not make a request to have this issue looked into? It is becoming almost a weekly issue again as it was during Stormblood, and it is to the point where I and many others that play with me are ready to unsubscribe simply because we just can't play.
