Better Hairstyle choices/ Longer hairs/ No Exclusive hairs

Yeah. Males don't have a lot of actual western male hairstyles. They release a lot of emo cuts- which I suppose are popular in Japan, so it makes sense. However, I personally would want to see some viera styles first, before another collection of styles gets released to the exclusion of a single update for us.

By no means do I expect them to prioritize new general styles over what people have been waiting on since the two new races were introduced, but when they inevitably give us another new style that hopefully all races can use, I'd prefer some shorter ones. As a roegadyn, all long and mid length styles look either hilariously horrible, or just awful on us. I wouldn't mind a few short and possibly tribal style cuts. One can hope but I bet we're limited to either emo styles or feminine styles.

I haven't actually seen what the roe hairstyles are like, but I have seen the midlander ones, and those are awful as well. None of them look good, literally. Like it's so bad. But I do have to remind myself that this is a Japanese game and there are likely to be mostly anime styles for hair. It's hard to make a decent looking guy, you're not wrong there! I saw someone else asking for this but I wish some races could have both of their clans faces. There's a sea wolf face that's awesome, but not available on Hellsguard. It'd be nice to have that. But yeah, I understand why they stick with longer and more unisex styles, however I'd like just one or two more short styles sometime.

Long hair has always, always been a problem for gaming. See early 00's short hair everywhere and games like L.A. Noir only having women with bob cuts and buns.

The engine was not designed around flowing locks outside of special characters and though clipping will always be an issue, I would rather the technical focus be on more QoL than yet another lengthy style that clips directly through every single colar in the game.

Yeah, Final Fantasy has a history of decent looking characters, both anime pretty boy style and gruff looking. Look at Cloud and Barrett for decent examples of both in the remake. Even the FF 15 multiplayer has great options for both in character creation. If we ever get an engine upgrade or a completely new FF MMO, I hope they include stuff like that.

Depends on how one defines hair length. Personally I'd love extra-long hair like Ysayle or Gaia.

Problem with those hairstyles is the lack of animation/bones in them. There was a cutscene where Gaia looked up (or was maybe laughing? I forget. All I know is that when I saw it, I mentioned it on voice chat. "Aaaah, her hair went through her body!") and her hair, as stiff as a board, clipped through her chest. Mind you this was a 'basic' cutscene (in-game restrictions) and not the cinematic kind of cutscenes you can rewatch in the journal.

There is a lack of well designed long hairstyles

With good reason.
Long hair stands off awkwardly and usually clips horribly in 99% of the existing gear.

They work for NPCs because they only wear gear specifically designed for it and have restricted movement capabilities.

Um If your having clipping issues thats your own fault use a diffrent glam there are so many glams you can use to have no clipping at all with any hair just avoid shoulder parts on the glamor and your fine
