If this is happening when you first attempt to play, I'd suggest trying to play the game in a simple environment. By this I mean close any other programs that may be running in tandem with the game. Additionally, if you have any overlays active (Geforce Experience, Discord Overlay, etc.) try disabling them.

I'd also suggest trying a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.
