Maybe keep the craftable battle gear easy to HQ so it doesn't make it tedious for raiders as the OP suggested, but at least make the crafting and gathering gear difficult to HQ.
O_O Wow, didn’t expect Ashelia Dalmasca to post, lol. xD Nontheless, I think Ashelia is absolutely correct. At least make the crafting and gathering gear hard to HQ, as crafting and gathering are economical jobs. Combat jobs aren’t that economical. A lot of hardcore players sure did miss the gil earnings, I know I did. There needs to be a barrier between casual content and hardcore content, and both content should co exist.

But dude, I did not expect Ashelia to post on here...wow. Guess crafting has gotten so bad to the point where even Ashelia has to join the fight. Actually kind of sad Yoshida let it get to this point
