So yeah, with crafting laughably easy and accessible now, think we could bring in more of the specialist exclusive stuff. Feel its a lil too accessible now, prolly the fastest ive seen a market drop so low before. Not sure what else would help. >.<

Yep. Don't even need particularly good gear to get things done. I suppose specialist might make things a bit better for a while. Prices drop severely ever since HW, though. About the only time they stayed high was when they did those favor gathering nodes because they were such a pain to farm and it was fairly difficult to reach the stats needed to make things HQ.
I'm still waiting to see them make crafting "RNG and non-macroable" like people were saying some months back.
Why shouldn't crafting be accessible?
Before the big changes every max crafter was just pushing a button to craft something hands free and tossing it on the MB.
After the big changes? Far more people are able to do the same ... big whoop.
I'll never get over crafters complaining about their jobs being trivialized when most of the goal behind high level crafting is to get to a state where you can just macro to success instead of having to think or deal with rng.
^ This person gets it. Crafting was simplified BECAUSE it was so freaking complicated to the point most people wouldn't try it. It was never meant to be difficult/exclusive to a few people. It's side content for anyone willing to do it.Why shouldn't crafting be accessible?

Googling a 100% HQ macro is not the same as clearing end game combat content. Honestly I think they should do away with specialists period since they don't seem to do much of anything besides some free CP.
It guess it's a definitive way to say you 'main' a certain crafting job, rather than opting to level one and only of them.
I think most people didn't like the idea of specialists. Too many crafts require crafts from other jobs, and it would be annoying to have to rely on other people for them.
Heck, they just made it so you can do Free Company crafting solo, even though all you needed was other people to stand in the room with you. If asking people to stand in a room is too much, then making it so I need other people to make things for me or sell things to me as my only option is probably not gonna fly.
They originally made ALL the new gear recipes, including the ALC dissolvents, specialists-only, with no implication they would be made general recipes down the line. People didn't take kindly to that. Since then it has been a steady receding of specialist only recipes to the point where it's only a couple non-gear related things usually per patch. This time around we actually got a decent amount of specialist crafts because the Shinryu weapons are all specialist-only.
kind of have feeling that specialist system will be delete soon as they make desynth avaible for every job and nerfed them to ground, currently, specialist have nearly nothing to offer beside few stats boost, these specialist craft feel kind of an afterthought, that was added into the game just to make this system look kind of important
No thank you! I absolutely detest the idea of crafters having monopolies on things which is generally where specialist crafting leads.. This usually ends up with prices on specialist items being needlessly high makes buyers shell out way more than they should have to to, and sellers constantly fight each other to sell their wares on the MB. Not to mention the fact that since its "specialist" you cant be everything like this game heavily leans towards.
Just my two cents though.
I put time into my crafters and gatherers so that I could be self sufficient and not have to pay millions every patch to update my gear. I don't want to not be able to gear myself because of specialist lockouts.
I also think you are missing the obvious thing when it comes to MMOs and making money - if something makes huge profit, people are going to pounce on it. Crafting after a patch can net a TON of gil. It isn't at all surprising that people are going to try and pile on to make gil, and the high sub numbers from ShB success is just going to compound that. Specialist recipes might reduce that, but not by huge numbers.
