Why would you not instead ask for something like more frequent appearance rates?

Didnt they already adjust the HP when Stormblood came out? How could they not have forseen it this time is O.O
level 80 hunts need a buff already.
Here's hoping they'll decide to touch on the ARR hunts as part of the ARR revamp they're doing.
Some of their spawn points are a little...unkind to people trying to progress through the MSQ or job quests on top of the whole HP problem.
I do not want this.
S ranks are special and fun to spawn and kill because they are rare.
Engaging in spawning processes on a daily basis would not only be tiring, but a lot less appealing if they could show up at any given day.
Decreasing the cooldown of S ranks would also fail to solve the issue of attempting to spawn old S ranks only to realize they were previously killed stealthily.

A good start would be making the HP actually scale with how many people are within a certain radius of it - This way, when 100+ people show up for a SHB hunt it wont die in 20 seconds, this way when 100+ people show up for an ARR hunt it wont die in 1 second, letting late arrivers get a chance of getting something, and make the hunts actually REQUIRE people - as it is right now, even stormblood hunts are soloable if you play healer/PLD and have 15 minutes free.
2.0 Veteran from 2013. Just looking to be helpful. DRK is Love, DRK is life.
(Ignore the levels on my character card, the tool i used to make it hasn't been updated for 4.0)

Counter-argument: In such a system, everyone just hangs way back, or even outside the zone, until pull time is declared, when one player gets in range to pull hunt.A good start would be making the HP actually scale with how many people are within a certain radius of it - This way, when 100+ people show up for a SHB hunt it wont die in 20 seconds, this way when 100+ people show up for an ARR hunt it wont die in 1 second, letting late arrivers get a chance of getting something, and make the hunts actually REQUIRE people - as it is right now, even stormblood hunts are soloable if you play healer/PLD and have 15 minutes free.
Now it's just a mad dash for everyone to get close enough to get their hits in, while the game is unable to scale HP with the fluctuating number of players. HP of the mob can't just increase/decrease on the fly mid-fight like that.
Additionally, may even be punishing for having any players nearby that are below level cap/range for those hunts. They're already not contributing as much to the fight to begin with, but under that system, they'd be actively making it "harder" for everyone else by hanging around.
Instead of tweaking HP and trying to have it scale somehow, it may be easier to simply give all A/S rank hunts a set of buffs that can change the difficulty. Dunno what all triggers might be available, but this might have more room for adjustment. If mob takes more than X amount of damage over Y seconds, apply a high DEF buff. And an ATK buff for good measure. Or give them all skills to hit players with debuffs to ATK or DEF. Maybe you could trigger off of how many hits the mob is taking each second. I guess actually there are HP buffs/debuffs that could also work.
I guess the more I think about it, there may be some ways of triggering an active scaling by players in range. It'd have to work with the buffs/debuffs system, I think, but maybe if they mix that in with something similar to Lvl 100 Flare-ish skills. Idk.
All that said, these do remain largely obsolete mobs in outdated content. It may simply be by design that massively outleveling and overgearing makes them trivial.

But they're not special, they're old content that's been in the game for years. If you want rare S ranks, then you can hunt the ones that were added in Shadowbringers. Every other piece of outdated content receives buffs that make it easier to get done - roulettes, Echo buffs, undersized parties, increased drop rates, token items to ensure items, etc. - and I don't see why hunts should be any different when there are 4-5 times as many as there used to be.I do not want this.

I don't think they have the systems in place to do this, although they could do something similar to FATEs where they get altered based on the previous time it was killed. It's not as good but it has the general effect of making popular things stand up to more players while still allowing people to finish solo if no one is interested anymore.A good start would be making the HP actually scale with how many people are within a certain radius of it - This way, when 100+ people show up for a SHB hunt it wont die in 20 seconds, this way when 100+ people show up for an ARR hunt it wont die in 1 second, letting late arrivers get a chance of getting something, and make the hunts actually REQUIRE people - as it is right now, even stormblood hunts are soloable if you play healer/PLD and have 15 minutes free.
