I understand the issue with World Racers but I can't figure out what you get for a week 1 over a week 2 or 3 clear (beside getting your mount earlier), especially if you actually don't have the proper time due work for it. Why do you still force yourself that much that it even ruins your actual game experience by skipping through the content and rush about it just to make it in time? "Because the content is more challenging in Week 1/2 then in 3?" Why is that? Because you have more Stones then? But wouldn't it be the same if Savage was delayed but not the Stones? And even if that would be true, does it make you feel bad as a player if you don't make it in week 1? Also, if you are all up to it, you can still go in there with minimum ilevel, refusing to use the Stones if that's all what makes it less challenging.

As someone who is PFing, if you miss the first week, even the first day, you've lost any chance at all to at least try the fights blind and work the mechanics out. I didn't get to start raiding this week till Thursday and despite labelling the party as a blind learning, we had people put waymarks down and explain stuff within one pull. Even for statics, word gets around fast and hearing about strats or memes that have come from the fights can ultimately cause people to get spoiled on mechanics they wanted to experience and figure out.

I don't think anyone particularly cares about the issue of extra tomes, one i490 piece will make hardly any difference and you'd have to cap before raid to get chest or legs which again, won't give you a huge advantage over just having penta melded crafted gear.

Guides and Strategies are out Day 1 (at least for the first two stages). It's still the first week and guides are already everywhere. You could follow the World Race live on twitch and look them up after. So if that what matters it wouldn't be about a week 1 kill, you also need to made it on the same time as the world racers.

I support this. The devs seem to have no problem delaying important content like relic quests or Ishgard content until the patch is halfway done. They could easily delay savage as well.

How anything of this could be solved if Savage was postponed one week? It would be the same situation... just one week later.

Because as others have said, many people are too busy on the first day Savage comes out crafting, trying to rush through all the content after they finish work or have other commitments that stop them being able to enjoy all the content that comes out on day 1. If you only care about Savage raiding then sure, maybe it's not a big deal to skip the other things this game has to offer, but a lot of people play this game because it's Final Fantasy. They want to enjoy the story. By having Savage come out on the same day as a bunch of other things, you're forcing some people to make a choice that doesn't need to exist.

Regarding spoilers for stuff, well yeah, I'm not saying spoilers aren't still gonna happen day 1, but the point is with Savage being on it's own release date, everyone has a chance to get stuck in sooner. The sooner everyone can start, the less they will get spoiled on things. When statics or PF raiders can't get started till a day or two later because other content/commitments, they get subjected to people who just want to explain all the mechanics without giving people a chance to enjoy it blind. People also might be less willing to spoil content when they don't feel like they're having to play catch up with the other groups/PF raiders who skipped all the other content to start straight away.

Don't raid savage but they give us more then a months warning about a major patch drop. If you can't get the time set aside to raid week 1 with a heads up like that. Then its time take a close look at your time management. Delaying a week so you can enjoy the content is fine any other reason is a you problem..

A delay of 24h for the first week would be nice.
So at day 1 you can do the normal raid and prepare stuff for savage and at day 2 you can do these nice little blind runs with your static or PF.
Especially the PF raiders need to be in the first wave to get fast into the 2nd and 3rd fight to avoid a lot of casuals in the first one.
The delay of a week is suggested because of how reset and loot works. Delaying by a day or two—or even 24 hours—cuts into Week 1 prog, and makes it more likely groups going for a Week 1 kill don’t get it due to losing days. If they didn’t release Savage until a Thursday or Friday of the same week, then Week 1 proggers just lost 2~3 days of raid progression.

So it's all about the loot now? To get it as fast as the content drops?
