Entire parties are now leaving ocean fishing early to chase title(s)

Across multiple data centers, people aiming for the sea dragoon title (and possibly other titles) are posting party finders saying "Will leave and requeue if X weather"

And some people are coordinating on discord to do the same.

When a few people leave due to spectral currents its likely problematic.
But I'm not sure if an entire party ditching immediately is going to hurt other people.
Spectral rates seem to be tied to how many people are in the instance.
But if they are tied to how many people -enter- the instance, this will ruin the entire trip for anyone else left on board.

It would be great if there was some clarification on whether or not this is allowed. E.g. if a party leaves, can you just leave as well and requeue? Or is this entire practice against ToS?

I could tell within the first day or two that if I'm not going in and not planning to be a super fisher, I may as well stay out to avoid potential toxicity. I'll wait til shit chills out and I can actually go in and relax at my own pace. Pretty sure FSH isn't meant to be all that stressful.

I am not sure how SE did not have the foresight (again) to see these things happening..Put something as a reward in it that is purely luck based and make group play necessary to get more points at the end to get it..and then be surprised that people will be selfish and drop out..

I don't like it either. They can fix it by making a fish catch table not affected by a weather, or making weather not random across every boat.

To be fair to the community, this is just the natural order of things. Any and all gaming communities inevitably funnel into the most efficient way to do things.

The trick is in making sure the most efficient paths to success do not trample on the original vision before releasing content. Sometimes easier said than done, of course.

I think that they have too much faith in their own player base sometimes. On the JP side of things I could imagine there being a bit more cooperation even when the RNG isn't too great, though no one no where is going to be perfect. I think that the scores should be tallied individually even if it means increasing the points generated. Or at the very least, make it so the amount of points isn't required for one round trip and instead make it accumulated over time, even if that means increasing the points required or lowering the points gained.

I have been in multiple parties now where over half my party ditched because they didnt get right weather or spectral. I feel bad because I dont want to ditch incase it ruins the run for others (so if the party doesn't get an extra member they prob have no shot at the title). But it's really lame i have to even make that kind of decision.

It would be nice if a mod clarified whether it's an -ok- practice to leave (e.g. if it doesn't hurt other people's chances at spectral waters), or if we shouldn't be doing it.

Wow glad I haven't seen this yet ( probably just jinxed myself). Hope SE can add a penalty to stop people from doing this.
