Anyone know what this will be like, the new Eureka? It looks like we are searching for a powerful weapon the Hrothgar need to join the rebellion agains Garlameld?

We know it's going to involve Bozja, which is both the home of the Hrothgar (or at least the clan the GNB trainer is from) and the city that Cid's father accidentally destroyed 15(?) years ago when he contacted Dalamud.
It's also going to require completing the Ivalice raids in order to start it and the villain is Gabranth. Beyond that I don't think we know anything else story-wise.

As far as if it's like Eureka, I think they said it'll have two progression paths for the weapon: You can do it like Eureka, or you can do it like the ARR and HW relic weapons. Keyword "think", I'm not 100% sure on this.

Thanks for the info, I hope that Ivalice raids doesn't become a requirement, I never did them don't like doing large scale raids.

Completing the ivalice raids is a confirmed requirement to start this series when it comes out. The story is a continuation of events that happened during the raids. Todays patch they even toned down two of the "troublesome" spots along the way. You will have to do them if you want to save the queen, so you may as well start working on unlocking them and running them now.
