Lets not forget that the others had tried to talk to them and tried to make peace to them only to suffer attacks and get important food stolen. They were the aggressors. If they should have hated someone then it should have been us and Bismark but seemingly they already hated people before that and this made it only worse. They were outright breeding to get to war which would have let to the death of the Ondo and other people.

They attack us right away, while they had the chance to talk to us.

When did the pirates at the Ruby Sea ever go out of their way and say that they will mass murder villages? The pirates were willing to talk and thus the scions used that to reach their goal. These were not ready to talk and are an active danger to the Ondo (who are the ones that beg us to take care of them) and only after they heard that did we agree to do something but Alphinaud and others highly dislike it and wished for a diplomatic way which was sadly never on the table.

I mean... I'm pretty sure I remember there being a bit about literally raising an army for the express purpose of "vengeance against the finless ones" or something to that effect. I sure didn't interpret that as mere piracy, no matter how contrived that part of the story actually felt (imo). Like, the queen was birthing an army because the Ondo wouldn't join her to go kill people is how I took it.

The Scions have shown to have the ability to disable rather than slay their opponents when restraint is required of them. Somehow I doubt the reaction would be indifference if it was a pregnant Hume, Mystel or Viis being cut down in similar circumstances. I understand why they did it, though it's a matter of perspective and as far as I see it, they are not the righteous party in that particular case.

I believe the whole situation is this.

The flood happened reducing the ondo's entire territory to an incredibly small space compared to what it was.

The flood was caused by finless ones.

We and Bismarck put an air bubble where they hunt and breed.

We never interact with the Beashos in the msq prior to this.

It could be interred that they only knew finless ones caused the air bubble which reduced their food supply and made birthing much much harder.

So they have just cause to want vengeance against finless ones just it should be more directed at us but they may not know that.

The queen was going to use the eggs to make an army for war against innocent people.

Norv is a sahagin that went against his people's desire and raised his eggs to be more welcoming to other races.

While it is not stated I suspect there would be some Beashos that might've gone against what the queen had planned and could've raised some to be better, but there is no hope now since all gone and most likely make themcall hostile now.

And what would that have done? It was the Ondo that outright said that they have tried for peace. That they have tried to talk to them. Disable them would not change anything at all..it would just mean that she will give birth to a huge amount of warriors that will slay the innocent people.

If Hume and others could give enough birth to raise an army then yes we would have killed them too but they dont. And unlike more human like beings you cant just throw her in prison which would probably be the solution for Hume and other people.
