Why all (almost) house walls look like barns?

Title. Basically the only houses that does not look like barns and are somewhat tolerable are japanese-looking houses, riviera houses and some of the merchant ones like weaponsmith. All of the the other ones are either barns or heavily-stylised barns like themed houses (carbuncle, otter, moogle etc). They look too childish and over the top and cant be taken seriously. And the latest walls like Traders and Half-timbered are the definiton of barns (stone part of Half-timbered look okay, wooden part is off). So if you dont want to go with that classic riviera style and doesnt want your house to be japanese you're basically out of options.

So this make me wondering, when they will decide to go serious with new designs? I have high hopes for Ishgard houses where there hopefully will be them gothic looking mansons with long spike fences, oblong windows and that famous eye, maybe something made of stone and I love the stone look much. Something that resembles a serious house, not them cute and happy barns they keep adding each patch.

There are maybe 4 housing skins that look like barns.

I don't see how you think of the new Half-timbered skin as looking like a barn. It might be rustic but it's most definitely not a barn. It looks like housing you'd find in parts of Europe.

I'm sure the Ishgard skins are coming once Ishgard housing finally opens.

I agree that we need more normal looking houses, but I definitely don't think there's anything wrong with the Trader's or Half-timbered walls. May not be your style, but that's okay. I definitely think we will get Ishgard skins later, however keep in mind they are likely going to resemble the half-timbered walls, if we want to go off of what's currently in Ishgard.

Yeah, when I said Ishgard house walls I meant them noble families manors in The Pillars lol, not them commoners houses below. But yeah if they are going to add these ones instead that will be a massive anti-climax yet again and I wont be surprised if they will considering their love for barns.





We have something similar already with that generic Riviera or Oasis walls but they certainly need to add more of these.

I would kill for a gothic style castle walls. That said, I do like the Half-Timbered one. Better than the last one we got.

Gothic is a must, yep. But judging by SE love for barns, not going to happen lol.
