I've always guessed around 14ish. Like mhaeirc said, "my own age" generally means around the same age, not the exact same number, especially the younger you are.

She’s young enough that the FBI will watch you now

I'd say about 16-17 if only because of the amount of people complaining about her non Shiva dress outfits in E8 and E8S. I don't like how she looks younger though look at F'lhaminn who is supposed to be much older than she appears to be. Part of me wants to believe that she looks younger due to her not having life experiences until Thancred broke her out of jail. I mean heck I'm older than I look and people assume I'm at least eight years younger until I tell them my age. We also know that SE has an issue of giving npcs faces that give us a better visual clue as to how old someone is. Koji and the rest of the Lore team are just going to have to put out another book. >.> <.<

I think that's probably true, but there's many other npcs that don't look as old as they probably should. Like in a lot of races you go from baby face to 20 something to like 50 to oh we'll just give them white hair to show that they're 50+. They have done better with some like Gaius actually looks as old as you'd think he is. I'd have to swear Ryne got the padjal face treatment in that even though most padjal look like they're tweleve we know the only one that's actually near that age is Gatty.

Given she's approximately the same height as the Leveilleur twins, who I always estimated to be 14, my guess was Ryne was about the same age; her naivete from having no real life experiences did not help.
That said if ancillary material puts the twins at 16, I'm willing to put her at the same age.

One issue is that the Leveilleur twins are Elezen, which are stated to reach their growth spurt (and puberty) later than other races, like Hyur/Hume. Which Ryne is.Given she's approximately the same height as the Leveilleur twins, who I always estimated to be 14, my guess was Ryne was about the same age; her naivete from having no real life experiences did not help.
That said if ancillary material puts the twins at 16, I'm willing to put her at the same age.
So my assumption was that Ryne is younger than 16, because she's Hume, but "looks" about the same age as the Elezen twins. Personally I don't think she's that much younger; maybe 15, and I wouldn't be surprised if she's just a short 16.
Speaking of short, it's kind of amusing that Ryne and Gaia are roughly the same height in cutscenes, but Ryne is wearing flat-soled sandals (well, sandal-boots), and Gaia has these ridiculous heels that add like ten centimeters to her height. So if Ryne is a short 16, Gaia might be a tiny 16.
(The truth is that FFXIV handles high heels by chopping off part of the model's feet and painting heels in their place.)

This confused me too, for a bit, since I always thought she was 14, max. But with this/these recent revelations, as well as something from the Halloween event a while back, it makes sense that she is at least 16.
First off, in Japan, 16 is a legal age, so nothing is "wrong" per se. But the reason this age makes a but more sense is taking into account her in game model. She uses the female midlanders skeletons model. This is proven by not only her in game emotes but her glamour from the Halloween event in 2019.
In game, the older teens use the adult models, so this fits with Ryne as well. The main reason why I think so many people were "confused" about her age was because of her height, as I think she is shorter than the shortest female midlanders; if someone can confirm this it would be nice. But anyways, that leads me to believe, she's just naturally short. Which, given the "stasis" her body had been going through until recently, it makes sense why her physical body would be "underdeveloped" compared to other individuals.

Not related to then topic but miqo'tes skin don't age as they get old. It was stated in the lore book that they don't know why other race skin age as they get old.I think that's probably true, but there's many other npcs that don't look as old as they probably should. So a 50 year old miqote will still look like she or he is in their 20's while a hyur will look like a old man.
