The biggest issue with listening to forum users is how different each person would want things to be designed, developers should look at as much data as possible while looking at 'general' complaints, the ones that pop up frequently like Healers are boring to do solo stuff/spend so much time dpsing because our healing is too powerful/reducing downtime actions to 1 button spam/Ast card system has controller issues etc.

But developers can look at just random ideas and may roll with it (less likely to happen in ffxiv case but can happen), totem trading for mount came from the forums.

The issue this forum has is we don't know what gets past on and we also almost never get told what they are looking at until they already confirmed adjustments at which point it's locked.

So many of us were right with the info we got from media tour (still want to do a slap round back of heads of all those players who said the healers were fine to SE who went), but SE adopted the wait and see how it plays mentality which they had to rectify both Ast and Sch very quickly when it turned out we on the forums 'moaning and whining' were correct. A mentality they have only reinforced with delaying any adjustment details until full patch notes.

There just is a disconnect which has hit healers the hardest, they are grossly understaffed for job design team (it was 4 I believe last I heard which isn't even 1 person per role), they should at minimum have 6 people on the job design team (you want a few more especially with passion projects like Blu being a thing) 1 person per role and 1 person to oversee to make sure they function together. Another thing the person overseeing them should also be routinely interacting with the encounter design team so that both teams can adjust their fields as needed to compliment each other. (This certainly doesn't feel the case because we wouldn't have been given so much more ogcds healing tools or encounter design would've made them vastly more needed outside Ultimate, which makes them near enough bloat heck our cure 1 and benefic 1 are now near redundant due to this disconnect).
