FFXIV Devs: Please STOP punishing normal players for others breaking the rules.

In the recent live letter it was said that (regarding Waymarks- translated):

Waymarkers:
Players will have a total of 8 waymarkers
Waymarkers can no longer be placed during combat for PVE
You can save preset locations for waymarkers
Presets can be copied from other players
There are 5 presets available

This has been a response in which certain players were using a 3rd party program to automatically place waymarkers in fights.

So instead of going after the people abusing the system, SE decides that scorched earth is the better response and to completely change the system. This isn't the first time this has happened either.

SE makes desynth easier! Bots abuse the system and get Fieldcraft Demi's really easy. SE's Solution: Time to nerf Demi Materia.

Players were skillfully managing Eos/Selene and healing two players between their pets and their casted heals so SE decided to remove the ability of players to manage the pet casts.

You're punishing 97% of the player base for something maybe 3% does.

Solution I've seen and liked: Make this change only affect Savage and Ultimate since that's supposed to be the "hardest" content.

That 3% like to ruin it for everyone. They think they are the "elite" and should be catered to so Yoshi is going to just wipe it all out.

Also all alternatives would either make the programms scan your pc (which is illegal) or monitor all players 24/7 which wont work either. Even IF they'd lock the client, it would be 100% locked and ppl would loose their precious parsers and all other mods, while some would just switch to full hacked clients, id guess...

Yoshi also said they have no way of seeing what is on our computers and I like it that way. The only way SE would be able to find and punish those who were using such programs, is to put some sort of cheat sniffer program with FF14 which we would download and it would scan our pc for it.

Which would you prefer, a program that scans your pc constantly, or living without being able to put down waymarks in combat? I think I can live w/o the waymarkers in combat.

How about any of the options outside of that false ultimatum, such as disrupting 3rd party tool users by placing an ICD on waymarkers movement, including on swaps between a smaller number of (now instance-specific) presets, rather than denying players the ability to move markers as needed altogether?

Pretty much this. These are supposed to be some of the smartest guys in the room, not the laziest.
