    Xbox360 + PS3 release? Announcement? Plus a trolling rant.

I just had an epiphany. What if this "big announcement" that yoshi makes is that Xbox 360 is getting back on the bandwagon for FFXIV? Now I know that there might not even be a big announcement, and that this is probably highly unlikely. But consider that FFXIV was being released simutaneously on PS3 and Xbox. That would tremendously help our populations

A Side note people making topics just to rip on SE staff are very annoying. With a topic like "Dev's Lazyness" I mean come on... It's obvious these guys are working a lot. The content of this update proves it. I wish an dislike button was made available, so next to all those "likes" on a trolling topic, SE could see that the majority might not agree.

I know I'm gonna get trolled on with this one

The only way Xbox get ffxiv if you have to pay for gold and SE wont do that. Top of that most of us don't want it on the 360 not because we hate the system because of it's limit. It having issue running ffxi i don't think ffxiv would be any better on the 360./

i like to see ffxiv for there new system not the one they have now.

I still think they are along way from the console release, they got so much on their plate and i really hope they don't release a console version til everything is working properly or they will just do more bad than good. I doubt they will release a Xbox 360 version although i won't say its out of the question. This for Zenaku, it's not because of Xbox gold membership and its not because of "Xbox 360 limitation" i'd say more than anything its because Xbox is american owned and also probably because they know japanese players own way more PS3s than Xbox 360s. FFXI xbox 360 issues where SEs fault, i played FFXI for 7 years and loved it but SE would never do work to improve the FFXI engine or server systems all they ever did was make new content. And as far as a new microsoft console, you'll be waiting along time for that.

I wish people would do thier research before posting things like this. It is obvious when there is a PS3 only kind of guy making a comment because the Sony marketing team has done a great job of making people thing that the 360 is underpowered or limited compaired to the PS3 when the truth is that they both out perform each other in certain aspects.

If you look at perfomance on the CPU side then PS3 does have the advantage but if you look at memory and video bottlenecks and performance than the 360 has the advantage.
The complete breakdown is that a machine is only as good as its lowest common denominator and the PS3 is lacking the overall memory bandwith to push the amount of poly's with the number of shading tunnels that the 360 can while retaining a high resolution and the 360 lacks the data medium space to deal with the high end texturing so they resort to compression and mulitple dvd disk or running the game off the hard drive which is no different than how ffxiv is being ran off of the computer as of now. The blueray argument is non-exsistant because pc's arent even using this medium for gaming yet and it just means less amount of disk.
Look at the halo series crysis and gears of war. The new battlefield 3 engine and compare the ps3 and 360 and you will see that both systems come out on top in certain areas and either system could run ffxiv without any issues.
The real reason ffxi is being held back is the PS2 and trying to say the 360 has issues running it before even considering the fault may be the ps2 is ignorant and bias in favor of sony. I have both systems and love both of them as both offer different games and expierence and I hate to burst your bubble but if it wasn't for a little microsoft owned and license out product called microsoft windows + "directx" and development tools..... sony's playstation 3 game development wouldn't exsist so don't be so quick to repeat hearsay without knowing facts.

yep, blu-ray has great storage space but the blu-ray in ps3 has terrible read speed compared to xbox's dvd drive, my best example to prove how crap the ps3 blu-ray read speed is is to play borderlands and don't use the install function, we're talking about 3 minute loading in between zones. Neither system is best it's a matter of personal opinion.

the 360 has a better GPU, but muh both short of todays pc's.

The new engine will help get around the ps3 limitations, but sut don't expect it to look as polished as it can on the PC. Todays adverage PC is well beyond the PS3.

Maybe soney will learn about unified memory and how to provide enough. Did you knwo the PSvita has more memory then the PS3?

I really doubt it. Just because microsoft doesn't even like people playing FFXI on there console anymore, the only reason they got it was to bring more attention to the xbox because they got it back in the day when the xbox didn't have much of a following, and in order to let people play it on there system they had to let them connect through microsofts server through microsofts free subscription which they do not like, if your using there bandwidth they want you to be paying for it. Now since xbox has a following there trying to discontinue FFXI on there console cause like i said before they dont want people connecting to there servers for free, which is the same way they would have to do it with FFXIV.
