The whole point is that if you're trying to sell lower level blacksmithing products in Ul'dah, you might not see as many sales as you would if they were being sold in Limsa instead because that's where the BSM/ARM guilds are. Some people prefer Limsa as a selling location regardless of the product because it's just that convenient of a hub location compared to the other two starting cities.That's not what changed with this tax change. The change was buying things from the marketboard, not selling them. Ishgard markets on Cactuar is still 2% reduced.
Now though, it apparently won't matter where you sell from, because if buyers are getting taxed no matter where they are, the buyer's location won't encourage/discourage sales.
Hence why I'm looking for an answer to my earlier question -- does it not even matter anymore where the retainer is based from? Because it's kind of a deprecated "feature" now, if so.
