Nvidia Geforce Experience no longer supported?

Does SE no longer support Nvidia Geforce Experience and its feature set? I can no longer use game recording/shadow play or game filters. Game filters stopped working a few months ago, and now with patch 5.2 I can no longer record game play. The recording feature of Nvidia Geforce Experience turns off instantly when I load up the game, and any time I press ALT+Z to bring up the overlay and toggle it back on it disables instantly.

I've tested it with other games and it works fine, FFXIV is the only game that seems to intentionally disable these features. If support was dropped or these features have been deliberately disabled by the SE development team, why was it never mentioned? If this behavior is unintentional when can we see a fix for it?

I'm currently on the newest driver 442.37, but its been happening with previous drivers too.

So, question, was this after you clicked "yes" to a windows prompt asking you to elevate the FFXIV launcher so it could change files/patch?

If so, that's probably why. It's similar to "run as admin" - other programs don't have the permission/authority to touch it when it's in the mode. If this is the issue, restart FFXIV and it should work again. (This can also cause issues with other overlays, like Steam, Discord, etc)

This is all the time now. Even after reinstalling the drivers (using display driver uninstaller v18.0.2.2) and two separate Nvidia Geforce Experience reinstalls.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We apologize for any inconvenience that has occurred when playing Final Fantasy XIV. Unfortunately the issue you are describing is not a technical issue. We will be moving this thread to "General Discussion".

Good luck with your adventures through Eorzea!

Just FYI the latest Windows 10 Update did some finagling with users again (it was mentioned that user folders may have moved depending on which account actually installed the update) so it appeared to be "deleting files" I also suspect the shuffle may have messed up user privileges as well. Is it possible to see if another user account runs into the same issue? User account as in WINDOWS user account - not another FFXIV account.

I'll double check the user account privileges. I know I'm still on the admin one but I'm not sure that would matter because it is very specifically FFXIV and FFXIV ONLY that has this issue. All other games work fine with these features.

EDIT Nothing to do with user accounts or privileges it seems. Does anyone know what SE is using for the Duty Recording feature? Didn't they make changes to it recently? If it is in some way leaving NVENC open or enabling it if it detects it is available that could cause Geforce Experience features to fail to work couldn't it?

Good question. I wanted to also let you know a friend of mine also said he's having issues with the game crashing when he launches OBS (which is another recording software) so I DO think this is a technical issue with the game causing crashes.
