Why does this OP read like a bad yelp review
Well, even if patch day's a terrible time to judge, OP isn't exactly wrong...
Soloing mobs was totally doable even before the numerous Eureka nerfs. If you can't do that now with the echo you might want to check how to use correctly the magia board, the eurekan potions and how to be more aware of your surroudings.

I'd like to see them continue to nerf Eureka, but I have a feeling they'll stick the mounts and things in a future moogle tome event and let the content rot.

Well get ready because we are getting more "Eureka like" content come 5.25 for the relic. They seem to not be tying the actual progress of the relic to it, but I doubt they would actually let you complete a relic without making you complete the content it came with.

Eureka is going pretty strong still. It's now going to be dead for a few weeks given the new content but at least on Crystal a friend and I earned our Whm Eureka Relics and there was in Hydatos at least close to 100 people each night with a BA group running and getting clears no less.

That's like, your opinion, man.
I love Eureka, but i know better than to go in on patch day.
During the week there can be about 20 - 40 people in an instance and on the weekends, it is around 80.
I mean, you can't solo the higher level mobs and expect a different outcome. This is on you, OP.

Patch day is not the best time to look for people in old content, especially grindy content which gives no benefit in the current expansion (roulettes give tomestones so players still do old dungeons and raids through them).
Back in 4.x times Eureka was really slow but still possible to solo. Now it's actually not too bad, at least once you accumulate some magicite. A couple days ago I did all of my challenge log entries solo on Pagos in about 90 minutes. Single mobs are total faceroll, two requires some form of heals, three means it's time to retreat unless one of them is almost dead. Of course Pagos has those void dragons which will wreck you if you wake them up.

My only real problem with this is, unless I'm just kinda bad, it really doesn't apply to the highest level mobs in the zone, which often means the top handful of NMs are a bit out of reach for the solo player, which is a bit unfortunate.Patch day is not the best time to look for people in old content, especially grindy content which gives no benefit in the current expansion (roulettes give tomestones so players still do old dungeons and raids through them).
