Issues with launching the game

Ever since the update, I've been attempting to launch my game. Whenever I try to launch it, I get this error (6d):
"An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.(6d)"

However, I cannot find anything on this error thus attempted several things myself such as rebooting my PC, changing back and forth between launcher modes, going into Directx9 and back to Directx11 and reinstalling the entire game. This does not fix my issue the slightest and even now, I am still unable to even launch it.
I'd like to know if I'm the only one with this error as well as possible reasons that I've been getting this error.

Certainly, my PC is old and I currently use steam to launch the game but I doubt this is the issue considering one of my friends on steam has the exact same factors, but he can run his game without any issues.
If there's a way to fix this, please let me know because it's been quite some time and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it running properly.

I'm having the same issue and I own the game through Steam. I've updated Windows 10, ran everything with admin privs, and reinstalled. Everything was fine right before the update so hopefully this is something on Square's end.

Same thing for me, I'm trying to reinstall the game but with 0 hope thats going to work. I also play on steam.

I saw a comment on Reddit that worked for me, completely exit Steam and run it in Admin and then try launching the game.

Worked for me too, no clue why, but its working now
