    "Play" button on launcher into immediate crash error

    My game has been having this issue where it isn't even opening, this happened from 5.2 patch launch and I have tried a lot of things as a troubleshooting attempt.

    The error in particular pops up in Japanese for me which is unfortunate, but it doesn't really provide any information from what I can tell. It just says "FFXIV has encountered a fatal error (6d)" or something along those lines. (https://i.imgur.com/S5ZaRxF.png)
    Any help is greatly appreciated, but I figured this post may just serve as a way to inform people.

    Troubleshooting so far has consisted of Compatibility of the boot/launcher.exes, computer reboot, admin or no admin privileges, firewall, antivirus, graphics driver reinstall, game reinstall (changing the location from where the game was previously running from, C:\Games\SquareEnix\... and C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\..., DX9 and DX11 client.

    computer specs:
    Windows 10,
    Nvidia GTX 1060,
    Intel i7-7700k @ 4.5GHz,
    16GB DDR4 RAM @ 3000MHz
    running Windows and the game off an SSD

    Same here first i thought is was my new Graphics Card but Thank Fairy, no it wasn't. Hope they fix this fast.

    Yeah same issue here. Made sure everything is up to date graphics drivers, windows etc, restarting, reinstalling, in DX11 in DX9, as admin, but the second you hit the play button the error message pops up.


    System specs:
    OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
    Memory: 32 GB
    Graphics: GeForce RTX 2080
    is installed on SSD

    NozomiHoshiaki, to prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this crash happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Where in game does the crash occur? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Hi Rhaervis, as the original post mentions, that was all I had tried for troubleshooting, with nothing working for it. However as of right now, I have disabled the application MacType which alters the way fonts are displayed on the computer, and that fixed the crash.
