You know whats pathetic? Running around spamming holy in main cities. You know what also is pathetic? Defending this behavior.

Because it demeans actual harassment when people call something that is no more than a mild annoyance, 'harassment'.
People need to stop being so sensitive.
I'm also not defending his behaviour, I simply said its not a banworthy offense as its a slipperly slope to ban someone for a minor annoyance, as there are plenty of things in this game that other players do that are annoying, but we don't ban them for it nor should we.
So yes, its pathetic that people are so thin skinned that they would define something as ridiculous as this as harassment, especially when its so easily switched off.

I can switch you off? I can make you stop following me ? Doesn't matter if I blacklist you and turn spells off. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TOO! I shouldn't have to change how I see and hear the game just to get rid of 1 annoying person that WILL NOT STOP. Nobody should have to go through great lengths to stop being "annoyed" because once you hit that point. It becomes harassment.

Its not a slippery slope, its quite cut and dry. So yea, it's pathetic you still defend it.

I'm just surprised that so many people take things at face value and overreacting thinking they can get banned for using holy. And that after so many showing how it might not be the whole story and then people show up saying there is another side to the story.

Yet, people still seem to think it's about using spamming holy and not question that the OP only shows a part of the story. It's all rather circular.

This is why fake news and general misinformation is so effective. People don't question the story they're presented if it sounds right to them and not try to get the full story or take it with a pinch of salt.

But at least now, we've got some people trying to address the other points, so since my posting that, there's actually progress. Like what constitutes as harassment and whether people should be punished for mild forms of it, that's where the discussion should be.

It was a three day suspension, it's not like he was kicked from the game entirely. And a good chance there were prior offenses with the punishment given out. We don't know for sure if the account had prior warnings or not.

He had a prior one on his account, he admitted to it in the log. Which is why I expect on this occasion his warning was escalated to a ban.


I can understand a 3 day ban is harsh for a first offense, but IMO reasonable for a second as a 3 day ban isn't much of a punishment. I expect in terms of harassment it was minor. But he shouldn't go around antagonising players, guy just got caught doing what he shouldn't because he found somebody who'd report it.

The quality of people in this game is really starting to go down. Thankfully this is overwhelming minority, but it is on the rise.

Guess what, gamemasters will decide if something is worth a ban and doesn't matter how much your feelings are hurt by it. It is not harassment only because you don't like to see something.

I'm glad as a new player and with how insane the community and GM's are in this game i decided when i first started playing to just treat this game as a single player game. I never talk to anyone other then to say "hi" or "thanks" and only in dungeons. I'll just keep my head down and focus on the story and pretend none of you crazy people are around me.

Can't get banned if i don't interact with anyone ever.
