Why Can't I Trade Yellow Gathere's Scrips?

Having got botany up to the mid 70s I've accumulated 1434 Yellow Gatherer's Scrips and I'm supposed to be able to trade them to a Scrip Exchange .. so why, when I do this with the Scrip Exchange NPC in the Crystarium and Eulmore, does she refuse to take them:

"Scrip Exchange: I regret to inform you that we are not looking for new suppliers for the time being. However, should there be a change of circumstances, we may have reason to call on your services."

According to one wiki: "The Scrip Exchange, who sits next to the Collectable Appraiser, will accept your scrips and offer gatherer and crafter gear,"

So how/where do I trade them if not with an NPC called "Scrip Exchange"?

first you need to actually become a trader by doing quests, if you have done all the previous expansion scrip quests, eulmore has a new one for the new area called "the boutique always wins".

If I'm not mistaken and my memory doesn't betray me, those NPC will be unlocked when you hit your first 80 as Crafter/Gatherer. For now exchange what you have in Rhalgr's Reach.

How far are you with the Shadowbringers MSQ? My best guess is that you'll need to complete that up to some point before those NPCs will do business with you.

Have you tried the scrip exchanges at other locations? There's one in each of the three major Eorzean cities as well as in Mor Dhona, Idyllshire and Rhalgr's Reach. I don't remember if Ishgard or Kugane have one, but Tamamizu in the Ruby Sea does.

I'm level 77 Botany and have completed the 5.0 MSQ, I never leveled Botany beyond 35 before this week.

I went back to Mor Dhona and the NPC there did talk to me, but level 58 gear is of course pointless, so I presume the earlier content NPCs you mention will also only have obsolete gear.

I'm pretty sure I was able to trade with the Crystarium NPC before reaching Lv80. I had unlocked the Crystalline Mean quests though, so that's another thing that might act as a gate.

I got the scrips from Mean quests, from Qeshi-Rae, these are the first scrips I've had for anything.

Go to Eulmore and talk to the the Rowena-looking person there if you're already through the MSQ. You may need to backtrack and unlock the quests for scip exchange in Rhalgr's Reach and Idyllshire as well if that quest isn't available.

So I just reached 80 BTN and the NPC still won't talk to me so you were indeed correct tdb about level not being a gate.

As it stands I have access to the Mean quests and have completed 4 of her gathering requests, I'm at a loss to know why it's broken.
