Game unplayable due to lag

I’ve just recently returned to FFXIV a week ago after a long break to find it’s nearly unplayable due to lag, rubber banding, and occasional 90002 disconnects.

I searched on Reddit and apparently this has been an ongoing issue for at least a month now with no fix in sight. A common thread among the complaints seemed to be Xfinity/Comcast, so I decided to switch ISP’s but the problems persist and have actually gotten worse after the switch.

Do these issues tend to resolve themselves with time? What would my best course of action be? Unsubscribe and hope it’s fixed in the near future?

switching isp's won't do much to help if the route taken to the server still goes thru the same NTT nodes. your options are to make a stink with your ISP about it or get a VPN to find a different route to the server.

The people I know who have been having this issue the past few weeks have been using a VPN to get around it.
