You lot still haven't made a mod for this yet? o(´^`)o ~?
Unnecessary wants are what make life worth living. ❤⃛ヾ(๑❛ ▿ ◠๑ )
I'm just saying, if SE isn't giving you want you want and it's nothing gamebreaking, mods could help. There's even a mod that changes everyone into lalafell. (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
Thing is, mods are a violation of the TOS, and thus you can get in trouble for discussing them here on the official forums if someone is feeling vindictive enough to go on a reporting spree.
Also they're no help for console players in any event.
There is customizing your experience like interface and such, but that is outside the game world. What you see in the world is part of how the rules of the world (and the game) work and you don't get God mode here. One of the reasons mods aren't sanctioned is to maintain a relatively consistent experience. Being able to constantly and consistently see through glamours breaks down important parts of the FFXIV lore. However, glamours can be dispelled within in canon. So how about we introduce that as a player spell and make a whole pvp thing out of it, with griefing and all. Honestly I'd be fine with that.

Mods aren't sanctioned because of the more "risque" applications that could potentially cause harm to the image of the game. Nothing more. There is customizing your experience like interface and such, but that is outside the game world. I can already turn spell effects to limited or completely off if I want to. Those are "part of the world" like people's glamours are. Is that having "God mode"?
I can also limit or remove people's names on my HUD if I wanted. To some people their character's name is just as important to that character as their appearance. Is removing their names from what I see somehow harming their experience? No.

Damage meters are so "risque". The essential aspect of a spell is that it has an effect, The essential aspect of a glamour is that it is visible. The names floating above heads are part of the interface.Mods aren't sanctioned because of the more "risque" applications that could potentially cause harm to the image of the game. Nothing more.
