The chat! A tool for self expression. You can opt out of the chat in FFXIV.

You can blacklist other players FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN THAT YOU WANT TO to not have to interact with them.

Are you against these already implemented features as well? What makes their inclusion meaningfully different from the ability to deactivate others' glam?

I agree with you that the people who'd use such a feature are weirdos. Probably. This is precisely why I believe that glam will never die. It will only ever be an absolute minority of people who will use that feature.

Difference here is chat is a source of potential harassment, racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc. and it's easier for the devs to give people tools to avoid this as much as possible. People always had a choice not to listen to people or speech they find offensive or irritating. It's why I block so many people I find annoying on these forums.

People existing in the world wearing game-approved outfits isn't comparable.
