Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Removing the gil from collectable turn-ins is going to make a pretty huge dent in how much gil is being brought into the economy.
I could make about 300K in a hour just from spamming DoH collectables, and I think only treasure maps really compare to that when it comes to legitimate methods of gil acquisition.

I used to be able to freely transfer large amounts of gil between my characters via the MB because I didn't have to pay taxes either as seller or buyer if the selling retainer was set up in the right city state. Now I can't do that anymore. I might still be able to avoid the seller tax but I will always be paying to buy.
It's also going to make Limsa even more crowded. No reason to head elsewhere to buy anymore.
Does anyone know what the Japanese names for the Eden floors are and what they translate to? Sorry if it's already been asked.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
It might still be more expensive to buy from sellers outside of your current location so there may still be reason to travel when making big purchases.I used to be able to freely transfer large amounts of gil between my characters via the MB because I didn't have to pay taxes either as seller or buyer if the selling retainer was set up in the right city state. How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?
Ocean fishing sounds like fun new content for fishers. Not sure FSH really needed any extra help leveling up, tho. Trying to fill out the log (while ignoring all the big fish) seems like more than enough.
I'm excited, at least briefly, just for the scenery. I like getting chances to see zones from a different perspective, especially if you can see things off in the distance.
(Then again they tend to be a bit wonky with relative placement of things, so it may just give me more inconsistencies to fret over...)
Introducing half-hearted moneysink mechanics this late into a games lifecycle is the worst design decision i have seen in a long time in any MMO. Many of us have hundreds of millions of gil (I ve been playing on and off since 2.0) and can generate millions a day just playing the marketboard a little. This will only hit new players and those who joined recently, overcrowd LL and generally cause those not so versed in buying/selling to make less money.
But sure, first you dumb down and simplify an entire game to appeal to newcomers with no inclination to learn in the first place, then you tax and money-sieve them for no reason. Its magic!
No more Crafting Action Reuse action after 5.2.
Getting a free item here and there was nice especially if the item being returned sells for 100k lol.
