[Request] Please allow us to save the designs of player characters we examine!

Being an artist myself, I consider my character to be my own work of art that I spend a lot of time trying to perfect to my liking. Being able to do something like this is basically the equivilant to stealing someone's art and go around saying you created it in my opinion.

I don't agree with this. I don't see it ever being implimented and I hope it never is.

Luckily not everybody is possessive when it comes to their character design. In fact, in many other games the ability to share designs is integrated into the character creator itself.

The game and all in it is SE's IP in the end. Besides, you can now copy other people's waymark placement. I think it'd be a marvelous idea!

The development team are ultimately the ones who made the outfits, though.

I can see where some people are coming from, but it seems like you guys have forgotten something. While I cherish my character very much, I realize that I technically don’t own her. None of us own our characters. SE owns them. Even if you say they’re yours, that will simply never be true, unfortunately.

While I don’t really have an issue with this feature per se, I don’t see it being implemented in the future. Kind of because the option to view other players’ gear is already good enough probably from the devs’ point of view. For colors, we could just guess. No big deal.

And in other games it's a feature that the owner of a character decides to use or not to use. That's one thing to share your preset on your own volition (and thus - choose if you want or don't want to), that's another thing to let players just copy others without their consent.

That said, if there was a tool to save your preset and share it on your own will - then sure, why not, and this shouldn't be that hard to implement even. Original proposal - please, no.

Our CC isn't exacly flexible so meeting a similar character isn't a rare thing, but knowing there can be somebody who clones your character on purpose, without you even knowing about this, is a bit creepy, considering there were cases when it was done in a not good way to the point where people RPed as somebody else's characters without asking permission.

Don't really see why this system would be an issue as long as people have a choice of opting out of it to avoid "plagiarism" (FFXIV honestly does not have enough options both character or glam wise for me to consider this a legitimate issue) or are just self-conscious.
