[Request] Please allow us to save the designs of player characters we examine!

More than once I've spotted a well designed Midlander, Raen or Xaela guy that I've wanted to use as inspiration for a retainer or an alt. Yet often it can be difficult to work out the exact specifications when accounting for skin tone, hair dye and other customisation features.

I propose the inclusion of the ability to save the designs of player characters that pique our interest. The option could be added to the same menu that pops up when you click on a player to examine them.

Although I love this idea, you’d be amazed at the amount of people who get insanely triggered if you even remotely copy their outfit designs.

I could see this becoming a problem on the RP servers....
Most people strive to be unique, not to have their looks cloned.

Already hard enough to achieve that with the limited options in the Character Creator

I'd be okay with it IF it was limited to NPCs that are based on the character generator. For player generations, I'd definitely say no. Just play around with them, and you can get some pretty cool mixes without necessarily needing to use someone else as a preview

Speaking from experience,

having someone copy you and imitate you is actually quite creepy.

Why would you want to imitate someone else or copy them?

Not just trying to imitate my appearance but also stealing my unique name, namesday and Twelve's Guardian.

Lastly, some people can and do feel their character designs are an extension of themselves, and or a form of art. It also is potentially an avenue of which one could be considered breaking the terms of service.

You may not impersonate any person or entity or fraudulently hold yourself out as a Square Enix employee, representative, or any other Square Enix-connected person or being affiliated with any such person or entity. This means you cannot log into someone else's account, or deceive or mislead other people as to your identity. For your own safety, we encourage users to safeguard their privacy, remain anonymous, and never give out personal information to other users.

You dont need to copy anyone, and I'm confident Square-Enix will not, and also should not, implement such a feature.

I'd consider it to be a form of flattery if someone sought to copy my character's design. I certainly wouldn't take it personally, since my character isn't me!

Considering there's already cases of fan artists' characters being ripped off, right down to their in-game name, I feel like this wouldn't be a good idea.

I see enough sameface catgirls and Sadu clones. I would not like to to suffer a hivemind army of even more of them.
