    Astrologian rework - Fortune Teller

A fair share of people are not too happy with where Astrologian is in regards to the card system. And while I don't hate the current change, I have been pondering ways I would like to see it improved on. While this might be long, and you might not like what I have to say right off the bat, save all judgement until the end.

For me Astrologian would become a true Diviner. Reading the stars and tarot cards to divine the party's fate and fortune in battle. Thus my entire theme would continue to revolve around those aspects. Divining buffs through astrology and divination!

I'll start off with simple list of things that would change.
    • Play, Undraw, and Redraw would be removed
    • Draw would be reworked along with how the cards function.
    • Cards would all remain being a flat damage boost, but have their role requirements removed. As well has have their damage buff reduced to 1-2% (Bare with me on this)
The reason for this is simple. Draw would no longer require the Play
action, or even targeting a player for it to take effect. Instead, once the draw button is pressed a card would be drawn from your deck, this then applies an entire party wide of the damage buff (again 1-2%). The Cards would last 15 seconds on a 30 second CD as usual and could stack with Divination.
There would be 12 cards in total. One for each of The Twelve, and two of each element. Some of you might be upset or confused about this so far, but let me explain. Cards would work Heavily around the skill Divination.
    • Divination would face a very drastic rework, that would also change the Astrologian's job UI. Divination would still hold three cards, but not in the same way as before. Cards while having that flat aoe damage buff, would also have a secondary stat. Giving players back that small amount of choice that they had before ShB.
      They would appear as such
      • The Balance : 1-2% Damage increase - Divination secondary of 2% Damage
      • The Spear : 1-2% Damage - Divination secondary 2% Critical Hit
      • The Ewer : 1-2% Damage - Divination secondary 2% Mana regen every 3 sec
      • The Arrow : 1-2% Damage - Divination secondary 2% Spell/Skill speed
      • The Spire : 1-2% Damage - Divination secondary 2% Direct Hit
      • The Bole : 1-2% Damage - Divination secondary 2% Damage reduction

    • Divination's secondary stat would only take place once Divination is activated. Using Draw would activate a random card and place it in of the three Job UI slots for Divination. Now since there are two of every card, it would allow it to be possible to have 2 of the same secondary in the same use of Divination. To counter the odds of drawing the same card again, once a card is drawn, it will be activated and placed in the Divination UI, making it so that one card could not be drawn again. Meaning once a card is drawn, the next draw will only pull from a pool of 11 out of the 12 cards in the deck. And so again with the third card, would pull from 10 of the 12. Ensuring that no card could be pulled more than twice. So you wouldn't need to worry about pulling all Boles for your divination use. That being said Divination also wouldn't have to be used until you felt comfortable with the secondaries you have on the UI. Drawing a card with all 3 slots full would push out the oldest card for the new one. Meaning there are over 200 total combinations possible of Divination buffs!
    • So an example would be lets say you draw two Balances and one Spear. Your UI would display two balance symbols and one spear symbol, and upon using Divination the entire party would receive 4% Damage increase and 2% Crit increase for 20 seconds on a 2 minute cooldown.
    • Sleeve Draw would face a minor rework, it would essentially place 3 random cards into the Divination UI and reset Divination's cooldown. Allowing a second 20 second chance at a party wild set of buffs. We would keep the 3 minute cool down on Sleeve Draw, but give it more meaning to both a fortune teller lore aspect and a meaningful use to the over all gameplay of AST.
    • Minor Arcana would be slightly reworked into a 45 second CD that would augment the Astrologian itself. Every 45 seconds you could draw (at random) either Lord or Lady that would change your next spell depending on which you draw. Lord would double your next Malefic, Gravity. or Combust's potency. And Lady would double your next Benefic, Benefic II, or Helios' potency.

The main goal of this would free up the need to target party members to use cards, or make macros to make playing as smooth as possible. Adding Secondary bonus buffs to cards to be used for Divination returns the splendor of having both RNG and some choice with how cards work. And making Astrologian a true buff healer. I'm still tinkering with ideas here and there, but this is what I have so far, and what I personally thought would be fun for me.

This rework does nothing to mitigate the different values of each arcanum. It’s a still choice between balance or balance-but-weaker
What happens if you like your current Divination spread, but you still have another draw coming up before Divination does?
Minor Arcana again has a 50% chance to be useless as you should never plan around RNG healing/mitigation, especially GCD healing.
Also, all non-self sources of mana refresh have been removed, so your Ewer card goes against the current game design.

I fail to see how this increases the ‘fortune teller’ aspect of AST at all. There’s no foresight or planning that you could do, all of the Divination slots do the same thing.
