    This patch’s balance changes are laughable.

    BLM: 25% Damage fall-off fix.
    RDM: 20 potency on Flèche/Contre Sixte/Jolt II
    SMN: 5 potency Reduction on application and DoT Damage(110 total)

    These Caster changes don’t sound like they changed much at all aside from fixing RDM’s problem of being a weak caster; if anything, they only made things worse for Ranged just a tiny bit. I thought MCH would’ve gotten some buffs given their Damage is a bit on the weak side, but I saw them nowhere in the Patch Notes. Maybe 5.25 might actually have some buffs for Ranged, but I’m beginning to have my doubts(BRD/MCH in particular need help: BRD with DoTs and MCH with just raw Damage given it’s the 3rd time they’ve Redone the job).

    I said it before the patch. If square enix doesn't not do anything at all to phy ranged in this patch. Specially to mch. It shows they are bias. They dont like phy ranged. Specially mch. Look how long before it took them to do anything with the class.

    You forgot RDM doing full damage on all Contre Sixte targets instead of only 50%. It's a significant AoE boost for RDM.

    VERY happy with this. Makes me feel like RDM is getting closer to the atomic bomb it used to feel like. :3

    And MCH and BRD both got a few boosts too, it looks like. I'm looking forward to getting in and feeling it out, honestly.

    That actually is something RDM needed since they were doing poorly anyway on 2+. Still, I'm unsure what RDM's numbers would look like after it given the giant jump in AoE DPS with Contre Sixte. I'll check in in about a week and see where things are before making a judgement.

    SMN's 5 potency nerf to dots equates about a 1.5% decrease in damage overall and RDM's 20 potency gains equate to about a 2.2% increase in dps. RDM's "problem" of being a weak caster is only about 5% less than SMN and a bit over 6% less than BLM. These changes are not insignificant in creating a better balanced between the caster jobs. If a 2% difference doesn't sound like a lot to you, then these changes are not meant for you but for players who can utilize this difference in damage.

    The caster changes are nice. I'm just wondering where the physical ranged dps changes went.

    My probably not the most accurate napkin math says around a 6-7% increase in overall dps during a dungeon run assuming average pulls of 5 or so mobs. It will vary considerably depending on how large the pulls are, since the potency increase comes from additional targets, so the more there are the much more of an increase it will be.

    I was about to post something similar to this about RDM. While I'm happy they got at least a little love, it still feels like it was about half or less of what they needed to be competitive. So during progression weeks I'm sure they'll be welcome, but how soon before they are cast aside again for lack of DPS? I still love my RDM so I'm sticking with it and after SE basically decided Ranged physical is SOL, I'm happy to stay RDM.. just wish they'd put more thought into this..
