    Subtarget command

I know they did some tweaks to the sub target command but it still does not fix one issue for me. When playing and you are locked on to a monster you have to deselect the monster then target your self to heal which is quite annoying.

Would it be possible to make it so only attack spells and skills you don't have use sub target and leave it on for cures.

I actually just have a macro to retarget me and heal, then go back to my previous target.

I don't know if it helpfull for you, but it works for me.

    As far as

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but wouldn't you have to retarget a friendly or yourself for this anyway?

Example you are tanking on pld: You want to cure your self but cant cause it says you cant cast that spell on the target. So what i want is when you use sub target command Skills like provoke and such fire off with out the need to double click but cures still require the sub target.

Plenty of other MMOs are smart enough to know when you use Cure or any other beneficial spell but you're targeting the enemy you're attacking, you're trying to cure yourself. It would be nice if FFXIV caught up.

In the meantime, I guess I'll figure out how to use that macro...

Makes sense, but which MMOs do it. Not disagreeing with you, I am sure they are out there. I play alot of MMOs, and I am sure I have experienced this, but I am old so I need a refresher, since we are on the subject.

WoW actually has an option in the configuration that will self cast if you have no castable target selected. Works great for solo, but when in a party a macro with <st> is the way to go.

Would love to have an option like that.

World of Warcraft has an option called auto self-cast you can turn on/off. When on, if you try to cast a beneficial spell (such as cures or buffs) while an invalid target is selected (no target or an enemy target), it will automatically cast on yourself. This would be the way to go, IMO.
