    Makes sense, but which MMOs do it. Not disagreeing with you, I am sure they are out there. I play alot of MMOs, and I am sure I have experienced this, but I am old so I need a refresher, since we are on the subject.

    World of Warcraft has an option called auto self-cast you can turn on/off. When on, if you try to cast a beneficial spell (such as cures or buffs) while an invalid target is selected (no target or an enemy target), it will automatically cast on yourself. This would be the way to go, IMO.
