The really bad lag is back... again...

No lag this time, but getting constantly dropped today. Has happened several times over the past two to three hours... INCLUDING while Ocean Fishing. Both times while fishing during Spectral Currents no less which killed my score and hopes for the title i'm still fishing for. Ran a tracert don't see any problems with the route to the servers. Anyone else having issues today?

I've noticed a little lag in game at points (mostly the stop go motion of others around me) but nothing I would consider too serious. It is about what I would expect during patch week. Still not a joy to deal with when it does happen though.

204.2.229.234 on my route is showing over 25% packet loss, but the rest of the route looks fine.

I've definitely been having some connection issues lately. It's nothing long term or even consistent but I'll essentially lose connection for a second or so. Not long enough to get DC'ed or kicked but enough to lose a couple of seconds of gameplay, which kills my movement in combat and, depending on class, can ruin my rotations. Thankfully I'm not someone who does really hardcore content or anything but I'm still hesitant to run group content anyway.

I just ran a tracert to the Aether data center and it's NTT again. Specifically this node: ae-13.a02.snjsca04.us.bb.gin.ntt.net

I also ran a pathping and i'm losing 91% of my packets there as well.

This happens to me every time the servers get even a tad bit congested. I am fairly certain its a bottle neck in traffic somehwre along the route that traffic is sent between the players and the server because if I turn on my VPN its perfectly fine.

FFXIV is a service, it should work.

Internet is a service it should work.

Needing a third service to run something that already requires 2 services, should be absolutely unnecessary. Suggesting it as a requirement is very backwards.

Imagine if every time you wanted to play FFXIV your power went out, and the power company refused to repair their services, and expected all their customers to buy and run power generators.

Using a vpn and not complaining to your ISP is literally you enabling them to provide you unsatisfactory service.

Square-Enix chose to move their servers to a location that would facilitate the usage of this pathway, so its just as much as their responsibility to contact the ISP as much as it is the customer.
