There are a ton of optional trials dungeons and raids available at level 50. Focus on your quests so you can advance into Ishgard, and when you need a break que up to run a first time dungeon. Or check the party finder either for groups trying to do the content on your "To Clear" list, or for people with a first time bonus of their own who you can help to get paid. Hell, put up your own PF group for some of the harder ones and people might find it and join to help you(and get paid). The big 100 quest block is a lot, but it looks like a lot more then it actually is before you do it. Looking back, i see a slow start and an increasingly fast finish. Before hand? I was dreading the whole experience.
Can confirm the 100 quests part. I am 54 today and will be 56 after the resets today and should be able to get to the last patch of quests before the expansion content. It goes by quickly barring a few quests where you need to go to three different cities to recruit X amount of people all a part of just 1 quest. The story has been superb though and I have been able to complete every bit of content I have unlocked so far outside of Coil. It doesn't seem like anyone wants to teach a new player how to complete it. When I quit years ago Coil was the hardest content in the game so I get it. I am hoping at 80 I can put a team together just to go back to clear it so I can see it.
