Help with Gearing Up quest.

I'm pretty new to this game, first job to 45 and I have this quest that tells me to go to Autumn Vale, which I did just to see and it said I needed a group or something. It surprises me that I can't even google these things with this game... Makes me feel like nobody plays it. But I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm not just going to try and form a group to walk into a dungeon I have no idea how to do.

Can anyone explain to me what exactly I need to do at this point? I'm getting extremely frustrated with this game. I can't even ask in game and get a response.

I'm not certain myself. I have been told you need to get through dzemael darkhold first. Not certain if this is true or not.

We might have to backtrack the steps a bit.

Join a grand company of your choice, complete company quests up to the point where the middle counter npc issues you "Into the Dark" for Dzemael Darkhold, complete that quest.

To enter the Aurum Vale, need a party of 8 all who have completed an "Into the Dark" quest. Once inside, pretty much a run to the first side room to obtain AF, under five minute task. You'll see party shouts in Ul'dah as <The Aurum Vale> AF <party>, etc.
