Shadowbringers content is great? I'll never know because Viera can't wear headgear

I fell in love with the Viera model and animations when they were officially revealed before the Shadowbringers launch. So much so, that I went all in on the Collector's Edition of the expansion. I wanted to support Square Enix for giving us something to be excited about.

The other races (Au'ra aside) female walking animations are so ridiculous that I can't get into playing them. I don't play dudes so that's not an option for me. Au'ra chicks are too small, Rogadyns are hideous... the Viera are beautiful, they run normally and their animations are excellent.

I was having a great time playing my Viera (as great a time as one can have in the original story) until I got my first class helmet... WTF. After dropping all that money on the Collector's edition and getting so hyped that finally they had a race I could get into, I felt cheated.

I understood that some headpieces weren't ready at the time of launch, but the class helmets being invisible was insane to me. I was so deflated by this that I quit playing. I was / am hoping to pick it back up when all helmets are visible on my favorite race.

Months later I return to find no change for Viera headgear, and a ton of other new content coming soon in the next patch. It's my understanding that even new headgear continues to be invisible on the new races, what the hell is going on?

This game is pay to play. Where is the support for the new races? Why would I pay to settle and make compromises? This is crazy to me, and I know I'm not alone.

I'm hardcore QQing here, but I won't be playing FFXIV until the Viera have the same support as the other races.

If there is a place where I can leave comments to Square Enix let me know. Thank you for any support or comments you have on this subject.

Seconded, I'm tired of paying for and doing content and never getting to wear the head gear. I will join this cause and stay unsubbed til headgear is updated like they promised. But gatherers get bazookas yeah that makes sense and umbrellas which serve no purpose at all.

Steely, this is the official forum. Squenix reads it. Your complaint will be noticed and filed in the circular file with all the other Viera and Horthgar no hats complaints.

I'm afraid that I have to rain on your parade - unless you get a significant number of people laying down their subs for this cause, it won't bother SE at all because there are enough subs left to generate money. And a lot of people I know are bothered by the lack of headgear won't cancel their subs because all the other content is more appealing to them then just headgear - or because of a static.

I'm actually fine with no headgear for my Viera alt, there is no way Kettle would be comfortable squishing up her ears into some tiny helmet.

As a reason not to play the game? Well okay ...

Shadowbringer is a great extension but big bunny or helmet, make your choice.

Agreed that it's so stupid new headpieces aren't designed with Viera and Hroth in mind. SE has literally no excuse to not make the hats compatible. I know it's more effort than it's worth to adjust every single old headpiece, but new pieces can be adjust on the spot. I think this is pure laziness when it comes to new headpieces.

I was an elezen until ShB let me switch to viera(which i would have started as if it was an option - love me some FF12). I played for 70 levels without ever finding a hat i liked more then my hair. Now i cant wear most hats? Non-issue to me. Certainly doesnt rise to the level of "quit a game i like during their award winning expansion cycle". But you do you buddy. Good luck finding what you want.

I honestly don't understand why new pieces of headgear, using entirely new models, haven't been adapted to Viera/Hrothgar. It's not like it means going back to revisiting old models, it's new stuff, and Viera/Hrothgar should be factored in.

That said, missing out on the entire rest of the game, just because you want to wear a hat, seems a bit overboard. You're not hurting SE in any way. They do respond to and take into account feedback (when they feel like it) but they take absolutely zero notice of people unsubbing. How are they to know why customer no. 6387548 has unsubbed?

I mean, many people at SE took on their own time to at least make it so some cosmetic items work on Viera and Hrothgar, which I was very happy with since my alt is a Viera.

I don't get why people would be angry not to see the big bulky gladiator helmet on their bunny, but that might just be me.

Anyway, whatever suits you, I don't think SE will notice one player going away on such reasons.
